Earlier this month, Broadway Records released the world premiere concept recording of SOME LOVERS - a concept recording written by six-time Grammy and three-time Academy Award Winner Burt Bacharach (Promises, Promises; Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) and Grammy, two-time Tony, and Olivier Award Winner Steven Sater (Spring Awakening, Alice By Heart). 

Wainwright’s latest album, “Unfollow The Rules” is nominated for a Grammy but it’s his unique audio autobiography, “Road Trip Elegies,” a conversation with his therapist on a road trip from Montreal to New York City, that delivers insight about his musical journey and the relationships that shaped him and his music.

Fresh off his wins for BroadwayWorld's Best Debut Show and Best Independent Recording of 2019, Mark returns to The Green Room 42 on Friday March 6th at 7pm to continue his love affair with the Great American Songbook. Mark hypnotizes with a set of enduring classics filtered through his youthful perspective and talent set. The show is distinctly new-age romantic, while still evocative of golden-age cinematic glamour. Backed by a stellar six-piece band led by musical director Clint Edwards, the show is directed by Preston and Richard Ridge.

Rufus Wainwright is set to release an A/B side 7' EP, Come A Little Bit Closer, on November 29, Record Store Day Black Friday. Featuring the unforgettable choreography of Michael Bennett, and danced originally by Donna McKechnie, Baayork Lee and Julane Stites, the song has undoubtedly become a beloved classic of the musical theatre holiday cannon... but which holiday?

Today, Say Lou Lou unveil the Zoe Chait-directed music video for their brilliant cover of Burt Bacharach and Hal David's classic, 'The Look Of Love,' which PAPER Magazine hail as 'a dark, disco revival, finding renewed desire on a dancefloor,' and praising the track's final epic chorus 'which swirls into ecstatic, strobe-lit reverie,' proclaiming the duo 'seal the look of love with a kiss of their very own.'

The film features a dozen other artists and entrepreneurs including Goldie Patrick, Veronica Zacharias, Ama Law, Tashira Halyard, April Manuel, Ebony Westbrook, Onrae Watkins, Kacey Williams, Zewditu Jewel, Anika Hobbs, and more. As this project continues to develop, Nikki Jean hopes to use her platform to share the stories of other inspired women.

On Sunday night, the Tony Awards honored legendary orchestrator and arranger Harold Wheeler with one of three 2019 Lifetime Achievement Awards. Weaving tales of his Manhattan childhood and adolescence raised by his indomitable Aunt Lillian through the lens of the tumultuous decade of the 1960's, Charles will be singing a great songbook from Broadway to Pop, featuring the work of among others Burt Bacharach, Jimmy Webb, the Beatles, Henry Mancini, Bob Dylan, Stephen Sondheim and Kander and Ebb. International pop sensation and star of the upcoming Broadway production of Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812, Josh Groban, is the latest to join in Stagedoor Manor's #BroadwayForOrlando challenege, a viral campaign to raise funds and awareness for the victims and families of the shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. The videos feature singers who have accepted the challenge singing the opening bars of Burt Bacharach's, 'What the World Needs Now' the song covered by the Broadway For Orlando organization to raise funds following the largest mass shooting in our nation's history.
