The 5th Avenue Theatre kicks off its 2018-19 season with the launch of Come From Away's North American tour, playing October 9 - November 4, 2018. At a press conference held May 30 in the lobby of the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 235 nominations for the 38th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in the performing arts in Toronto.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Adam Jacobs, currently starring as Aladdin in Disney's Aladdin on Broadway, just released his debut solo album entitled 'Right Where I Belong,' a compilation of songs by Tony Award® and eight-time Oscar® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Aladdin). Featured on the album are well known tunes such as 'Proud of Your Boy' (Aladdin), 'Go The Distance' (Hercules), 'Santa Fe' (Newsies), and 'Suddenly Seymour' (Little Shop of Horrors, in duet with Jacobs' sister Arielle Jacobs), as well as other melodies from Menken's earlier works. He just celebrated the release of the album with some of his Broadway friends, and BroadwayWorld was there for the special night. Watch as Adam and friends talk all things Menken below!

BroadwayWorld is excited to bring you an exclusive track from the album- 'Sailing On.' The song was the first that Menken wrote with Dean Pitchford in 1982 for an album that didn't end up happening. Now the song is out of the vaults and you can check out Jacobs' rendition below!
