The Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) will host a Shepherdstown Sneak Peek onFriday, March 24th at 8pm at the Frank Center of Shepherd University. The season preview will consist of readings from all six of CATF's 2017 plays. Founder and Producing Director Ed Herendeen will introduce and discuss the upcoming season. This event isfree and open to the public.

The New Colony continues its 2017 Season with the world premiere of Connor McNamara's political thriller SCAPEGOAT; OR (WHY THE DEVIL ALWAYS LOVED US), directed by Kristina Valada-Viars, playing April 13 - May 7, 2017 at The New Colony's resident home, The Den Theatre's Upstairs Main Stage, 1333 N. The New Colony has announced casting for its world premiere of Connor McNamara's political thriller SCAPEGOAT; OR (WHY THE DEVIL ALWAYS LOVED US), directed by Kristina Valada-Viars.

Broken Nose Theatre's second year as a Pay-What-You-Can theatre company continues with the Midwest Premiere of AT THE TABLE by Michael Perlman, following the play's Off-Broadway world premiere. Helmed by BNT Director of Programming Spenser Davis, the production runs through March 11 at the Berger Park Coach House, 6205 N. Sheridan. After record-setting pre-sales, a Jeff Committee recommendation and a sold-out Opening Weekend, the show launches into its second weekend tonight. Space Invaders! The New Colony will conclude its 2016 Season with the world premiere comedy MERGE, a fast-paced, heartfelt and uproarious journey inside the burgeoning 1970s video game industry. Written by Spenser Davis and directed by Co-Artistic Director Andrew Hobgood, MERGE will play October 8 - November 13, 2016 at The New Colony's resident home, The Den Theatre's Upstairs Main Stage, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Tickets go on sale Monday, August 22 at www.thenewcolony.org.  

Glen Street Theatre is excited to announce a diverse 2017 season at their beautiful 400-seat theatre located in Belrose on Sydney's north shore. The theatre will present dramas, comedies, music events, satire and children's theatre from a variety of arts companies and producers from around the country. 

The four Chicago-based playwrights newly named to the Playwrights Unit, a year-long residency in partnership with Chicago Dramatists, include Lucas Baisch, whose work has been developed at Victory Gardens Theater, Post Q at Links Hall, Chicago Dramatists' Saturday Series and more; Dawn Renee Jones, recipient of the 2015 Ruby Prize for her play A Heap See; Evan Linder, whose recent credits include the acclaimed remount of his play Byhalia, Mississippi, (2016 Non-Equity Jeff Award for new work) at Steppenwolf's 1700 Theatre; and Emma Stanton, recipient of the 2016 Princess Grace Award Playwriting Fellowship, which includes a year-long residency at New Dramatists in New York.

The New Colony and Definition Theatre Company's runaway hit BYHALIA, MISSISSIPPI, winner of three 2016 Jeff Awards including Best New Work, returns this summer featuring the full original cast now through August 21, 2016 as part of Steppenwolf's Visiting Company Initiative at their new 1700 Theatre, 1700 N. Stage Left Theatre will present LeapFest XII, Stage Left's annual new-play festival, running July 13th - 31, 2015.  LeapFest is an annual event featuring several new plays with socio-political themes, presented as workshop productions in rotating repertory. This year's festival includes new works from Kristiana Colon, Beth Kander, Evan Linder, and Jeff Tabnick .
