Marin Theatre Company is pleased to present the world premiere of Magic Forest Farm by Zayd Dohrn, winner of the first annual Sky Cooper New American Play Prize in 2008. The production will be staged in MTC's 99-seat Lieberman Theatre.
From one of America's hottest young playwrights comes a riveting story of a young woman's desperate search for her past. Seventeen year-old Allegra is beginning to piece together the swirling memories of her early years in the beautiful woods of Northern California on a mystical commune called Magic Forest Farm. Mixing with joyous recollections of waterfalls and wildflowers are darker revelations and startling images of the people she thinks she trusts most. A journey begins that takes Allegra back to the commune, back to the past, to confront the truth.

The New Jersey Repertory Company, located at 179 Broadway in Long Branch, is proud to present the National New Play Network world premiere of Zayd Dohrn's SICK, February 12 through March 15. SICK is an off-beat comedy about one family's attempts to keep out the sickness of the world by isolating themselves in a house where all the windows are covered with plastic, where air-purifiers hum constantly, and where visitors are unwelcome. Directed by Benjamin Endsley Klein, SICK stars Meredith Napolitano, Rusty Ross, Kevin Sebastian, Jim Shankman, Liz Zazzi. Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Special reduced price previews are on Thursday Feb 12 and Friday Feb 13 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Opening night with reception is Valentine's Day, Saturday Feb 14 at 8:00 p.m.

The Kennedy Center presents the world premiere of The Trumpet of the Swan: A Novel Symphony based on the book by E.B. White, adapted for the stage by Marsha Norman, with music by Jason Robert Brown, and direction by Gary Griffin. The production features a 35-piece orchestra conducted by Jason Robert Brown. Trumpet of the Swan: A Novel Symphony is part of a season-long initiative Broadway: The Third Generation, celebrating the current generation of Broadway musical composers, and will appear for five performances in the Eisenhower Theater December 4-6, 2008. The theatrical adaptation is recommended for audiences aged seven and up.

Dohrn's 'Reborning' to Receive Reading in NewSCRipts Series

South Coast Repertory's third NewSCRipts reading of the 2007-08 season will be Zayd Dohrn's Reborning. Reborning is the 104th play to receive a staged reading as part of SCR's venerable play reading program.
