Alchemy Theatre Company of Manhattan in association with Playwrights' Playground NYC will present Off Broadway* the world premiere of FLIGHT by Michel Wallerstein at the DR 2 Theatre, 103 East 15th Street - off Union Square.

A series of Talk Backs following performances of the Vineyard Theatre and Naked Angels' co-production of Zayd Dohrn's new play OUTSIDE PEOPLE -- playing now through January 29 at The Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.) -- have been scheduled starting Sunday, January 15.

NOW.HERE.THIS. -- which last year received a Developmental Lab Production at The Vineyard - will be given a fully staged, world-premiere production with previews beginning March 7 prior to an official press opening of March 28 at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street), it has been announced by Artistic Director Douglas Aibel, and Co-Artistic Director Sarah Stern.

By my count, Outside People is the third theatre piece about a white American in contemporary China to hit town this season.  On the tails of Mike Daisey's The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs and David Henry Hwang's Chinglish, Zayd Dohrn's dark comedy deals with Yankee naiveté regarding cultural differences when it comes to sex and business overseas.

Tony Award®-winning actor Linda Lavin - who recently starred in the Vineyard Theatre's acclaimed production of Nicky Silver's hit play THE LYONS - willbe honored by the nonprofit theatre company at its annual Gala on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 6pm at the Hudson Theatre at the Millennium Broadway Hotel (145 W. 44 St.), it has been announced by The Vineyard. The evening will be directed by Carl Andress, who recently staged the benefit concert of THE VISIT on Broadway for The Vineyard and The Actors Fund. Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents its 7th annual First Look Repertory of New Work - three developmental productions of new plays presented in repertory playing October 26 - November 20, 2011 in The Steppenwolf Garage, 1624 N. Halsted St. The 2011 festival will also include three free readings by emerging playwrights presented November 3 - 5, 2011. Tickets for First Look Repertory of New Work are currently on sale, along with reservations for the free readings.
