The 25th anniversary edition of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' Gypsy of the Year Competition will be presented Monday, December 9 (4:30 PM) and Tuesday, December 10 (2 PM) at the Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway). The show will feature performances by New York's best actors, singers, dancers, and musicians with several guest appearances, including Tyne Daly, Cherry Jones, Ian McKellen, Mark Rylance, and Patrick Stewart.
Highlights this week include 24 Hour Broadway, the opening of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and The Commons of Pensacola, as well as Chicago's 17th birthday!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, after taking in a strong $7.1 million midnight sales, THOR: THE DARK WORLD — Marvel's follow-up to its 2011 film starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman — opened to $31.6 million on Friday. This means the movie is setting its target at more than $80 million by Sunday, well beyond THOR's $65.7 million opening takings in 2011.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mavel's follow-up to its 2011 film starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman managed to take in $7.1 million in midnight sales - double the first installment's $3.2 million haul.
