"Spamilton," the critically acclaimed off-Broadway parody of Lin-Manuel Miranda's sensation, "Hamilton," begins previews tonight at the Royal George Theater (1641 N. Halsted).

"Spamilton," the critically acclaimed off-Broadway parody of Lin-Manuel Miranda's sensation, "Hamilton," has set casting for its regional premiere in Chicago at the Royal George Theatre (1641 N. Halsted). Created by Tony Award honoree Gerard Alessandrini, the mastermind behind "Forbidden Broadway," the show features an all-Chicago ensemble including Donterrio Johnson, Adam LaSalle, Michelle Lauto, Eric Andrew Lewis, Yando Lopez and David Robbins. "Spamilton" begins performances Friday, March 3 at the Royal George Theatre's Cabaret/Studio Theatre.

Directors Scott Weinstein and Hannah Dawe and Music Director Jermaine Hill will lead a Valentine's Day themed event, LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE: A concert benefiting Planned Parenthood, the Trevor Project and the Southern Poverty Law Center. The concert is set to take place at 8PM on Monday, February 13, at Windy City Playhouse (3014 W Irving Park Rd) and will feature several of Chicago's most beloved theater artists including Donica Lynn, Alex Weisman and Jonathan Butler-Duplessis.

Todd Freeman. Previews began on December 1, 2016 (press performances are Saturday, December 10 at 3pm and Tuesday, December 13 at 7:30pm; opening night is Sunday, December 11) and the production runs through January 29, 2017 in the Downstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Set designer Walt Spangler transforms The Downstairs Theatre into a church where a live choir performs onstage. Under the musical direction of Jaret Landon, the choir features Faith Howard, Yando Lopez, Jazelle Morriss, Mary-Margaret Roberts, Charlie Strater and Michael Weatherspoon.

Belmont Ave. The  performance times are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. with an added Thursday matinee, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. There is no 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.
