Greenwich+Docklands International Festival Announces Full 2018 Programme

Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (GDIF), London's leading festival of outdoor theatre and performing arts, today announces its full programme for the 2018 festival, running from 21 June - 7 July in locations across Royal Greenwich, Royal Docks and Tower Hamlets. Audiences are invited to 'dream a little dream' over 17 midsummer days of outdoor theatre and performance, in which public spaces are transformed with more than 130 performances celebrating dreams of love, struggle, ambition and flight.

Choreographer/writer Antonia Katrandjieva presents her Overground Physical Theatre Company in X-Stream, which received its world premiere last April, presented by BAM at the Fisher Theater. The Bulgarian choreographer/writer Katrandjieva deftly follows nine characters living on the edge of uncertainty. They are challenged to co-exist in a muted world, deprived temporarily of sensory perception, and are required to 'exit, extract, excavate, expand, and exhale' in order to reset their natural balance. Katrandjieva's colleagues for film, visuals, costumes, and music include three-time Emmy winner Kalin Ivanov, video artist and filmmaker. June 20-22 at 8 PM at St. Mark's Church, Second Avenue & 10th St.

I wanted to like you. In fact, I was fairly convinced I was going to love you. Truly. After I was given the complimentary audience glo-stick, told that my seat was directly under the large disco ball, and instructed to keep my arms and legs away from the stage to avoid collision with the roller skating chaos, I quickly fell into theater 'true love.' But Xanadu, despite your best efforts, I'm breaking up with you.
