Queens Theatre in the Park Presents 'T'ain't No Sin, A Ragtime and Jazz Party', 4/10

Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) presents T'ain't No Sin, A Ragtime and Jazz Party on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 8pm in the Claire Shulman Playhouse Main Stage Theatre at Queens Theatre in the Park, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Flushing, NY. Tickets are $33 and are available at http://www.queenstheatre.org/or by phone at 718-760-0064. T'ain't No Sin, A Ragtime and Jazz Party is part of the American Express Cultural Heritage Series, which allows audiences to participate in a post-show talk back after the show.

Ahmad Jamal Headlines Jazz Appreciation Month at Byham Theatre, 4/9

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust in association with MCG Jazz presents a rare and unforgettable performance of big band arrangements and compositions with Ahmad Jamal featuring the MCG Jazz Orchestra. This special event, part of the Trust's National Jazz Appreciation Month celebration, takes place at the Byham Theater on Saturday April 9, 2010, at 8pm. Cohen & Grigsby is the lead sponsor of the Trust Presents series.

Musiqa Plays the Hobby Center, 4/3

The Houston Ballet Academy and Musiqa present an enchanting evening of music and dance, including music by Karim Al-Zand, Wynton Marsalis, Rob Smith and Karlheinz Stockhausen plus Stanton Welch's ballet 'Fingerprints,' with live score by Hamza El Din.

Mary Lou Williams To Be Commemorated On 100th Birthday With A NYC Concert 5/8

The newly restored Church of St. Francis Xavier and the Mary Lou Williams Foundation will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the First Lady of Jazz with a concert to benefit Xavier Mission outreach programs including the homeless shelter and soup kitchen. WBGO Jazz 88.3FM radio host Rob Crocker will emcee the celebration taking place on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 7:30pm.
