One of the last times I heard Toronto singer-songwriter Stephanie Martin in concert, she brought down the house performing before more than 2,000 people at Toronto's lavish and vast Elgin Theatre at the venue's 100th anniversary celebration. With her customary charisma, she performed a duet as Josephine (I've long forgotten the guy) from the Canadian musical "Napoleon," co-written by her husband, lyricist Andrew Sabiston with composer Timothy Williams.

ruTV continues to expand its programming horizons by ordering a new scripted comedy pilot for Those Who Can't (working title), created by and starring the Denver-based comedy troupe The Grawlix. Set in Denver, Those Who Can't follows three dysfunctional high school teachers - played by Grawlix members Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Orvedahl and Ben Roy - who are as screwed-up as the kids they teach. When an entitled bully decides to make their lives miserable, they go to ridiculous lengths to exact revenge.

New York Live Arts has announced the schedule for Live Artery 2015, a four-day event at New York Live Arts connecting dance and body-based artists with curators, presenters and the public. Presented during the annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference, Live Artery 2015 will feature two full theater remounts; excerpts from two recently premiered works and an excerpt from one forthcoming premiere work by 2014-15 New York Live Arts commissioned artists; and a work-in-progress showing by the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company (New York Live Arts' Resident Dance Company).

Today, 19 November 2014, eleven year-old Brodie Donougher from Blackpool, gives his first performance in the title role of the internationally award winning Billy Elliot the Musical. Brodie joins a cast lead by Ruthie Henshall who plays Mrs Wilkinson, Billy's dance teacher and Deka Walmsley who plays Billy's dad, and becomes the thirty-ninth boy to perform the iconic role at the Victoria Palace Theatre and the seventy-sixth boy to perform the role worldwide, including Jamie Bell who played Billy Elliot in the award-winning film. Also joining the cast today will be 10 year old Connie Fisher from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, who will play Mrs Wilkinson's daughter Debbie. In addition 19 girls from London and surrounding counties aged 9 - 14 join the cast as Ballet Girls. Billy Elliot the Musical is currently booking at the Victoria Palace Theatre to 19 December 2015.
