Mass Live Arts Karaoke Challenge Set for Today

As part of the third annual Mass Live Arts Festival, the Artistic Director Ilan Bachrach hereby challenges all art institutions in the Berkshires to face the staff, artists, and distinguished guests of MLA/15 in a Karaoke Death Match. The duel is to be held late night, beginning 10 pm after the main festivities of the MLA Benefit Party, happening from 9:30 pm tonight, July 10th at the beautiful campus of Bard College at Simon's Rock.

West End's BILLY ELLIOT Welcomes New 'Billy'

Nat Sweeney, 12 years old from Birmingham, will make his West End stage debut this evening (3 July 2015) when he becomes the forty-first boy to play the title role in the iconic British musical Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre. Now in its eleventh year in the West End, the show recently extended booking at the Victoria Palace Theatre until 17 December 2016. In addition, the first UK and Ireland tour of Billy Elliot the Musical begins in February 2016 with tickets now on sale for performances at the Theatre Royal Plymouth.

The Boston Teen Acting Troupe eagerly announces i don't know where we're going but i promise we're lost, a brash new play about family, starting over, and growing up, by Boston Playwright MJ Halberstadt. Presented by The Boston Teen Acting Troupe as a staged reading in May of 2014 under the working title Annie Doesn't Live Here, the show has been retooled for its world premiere at Boston Playwrights' Theatre, a city-wide hub for new work, from July 30 - August 16, 2015. i don't know where we're going but i promise we're lost will also feature live original music by Tom Freeman and Covey, a Boston Based indie folk band.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Grep Cooper Productions, LLC LLC have announced that Virginia Woodruff (Violet, Leap of Faith, The Color Purple, All Shook Up, Smokey Joe's Cafe), Cheryl A. Freeman (The Who's Tommy , Disney's Hercules), Tyler Hardwick , Anthony Chatmon II , Miche Braden and Darilyn Castillo have joined the cast of ACAPPELLA. Rounding out the company are Katrina R. New York, NY-April 22, 2015-For his largest presentation in the U.S. to date, Philippe Parreno orchestrates a scripted series of events within the monumental interior of Park Avenue Armory's Wade Thompson Drill Hall-transforming the traditional exhibition experience through an interplay of film, sculpture, and the spectral presence of sound and light. H {N)Y P N(Y} OSIS (pronounced hypnosis) features recitals by pianist Mikhail Rudy and a soundscape designed by Nicolas Becker that respond to Parreno's work and the Armory's expansive 55,000-square-foot space. Choreographed together by Parreno, these works form an all encompassing and continuously evolving artistic composition of operatic proportions.
Physical Festival Chicago Sets Celebration of Physical Theater Program

Physical Festival Chicago announced today the full program for its second annual celebration of this energetic, imaginative and boundary-breaking form of theater. The following companies and artists will participate in this week-long event to be held July 7-12: Single Shoe Productions (UK, Portugal & USA), Walkabout Theater Company (Chicago), DeCollage (Spain) and David Gaines (Washington DC). The Festival will also feature a Scratch Night, a preview of what's next in the physical theater scene, and four professional Master Classes with the visiting artists at Columbia College Chicago, 916 S.
