MCC Theater Will Break Ground on New Performance Space Later This Month

MCC Theater announced today that it will break ground on its first permanent home on March 22, 2016. Set to open in 2018, the space will unite MCC's diverse roster of programs under one roof for the first time in the company's three-decade history. The new facility will also allow MCC to expand its programming and establish it as a cultural anchor within the Clinton neighborhood. One of New York's leading nonprofit Off-Broadway companies, the institution fosters the dynamic exchange of ideas between artists, audiences, and young people through its productions of world, American, and New York premiere plays and musicals, a robust playwright development initiative, and one of the nation's leading arts education programs.

Nickelodeon announced today two new sports-themed series from production partners Rob Dyrdek and Shane Nickerson of Superjacket Productions (Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness): Crashletes, a new viral sports clip series hosted by New England Patriots Super Bowl XLIX Champion and Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski; and Jagger Eaton's Mega Life (working title), an action-packed docu-series that follows 15-year-old skateboarding phenom Eaton as he skates around the world and hangs out with his idols. The producers of the multi award-winning smash hit Billy Elliot the Musical are delighted to announce that the four boys who will play the title role in the first ever UK and Ireland tour of the iconic musical are Adam Abbou (12 years old from Liverpool), Matthew Lyons (11 years old from Leeds), Haydn May (11 years old from Bath) and Lewis Smallman (12 years old from West Bromwich). The boys were cast following nationwide auditions and after months of intensive rehearsals will alternate in the role when the show opens at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on Wednesday 24 February 2016.
