Musical Adaptation Of Historic Christmas Truce Of 1914 Arrives To Kean Stage

Kean Stage and Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University are honored to present a stirring musical adaptation of an actual event that took place during World War I. All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 will be performed at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, and 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 11, at Wilkins Theatre, located at 1000 Morris Ave. in Union, N.J.

Kerry Ellis To Star In THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST Tour

Kerry Ellis will star as Gwendolen, her first non-singing role, in the 2018 UK tour of Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford, Courtyard Theatre Hereford, Theatre Royal Plymouth, Belfast Grand Opera House, Theatre Royal Bath and Manchester Opera House. Hannah Louise Howell will play Gwendolen at all other venues. They will be joined by Geoff Aymer, Louise Coulthard, Thomas Howes, Peter Sandys-Clarke and Simon Shackleton, playing Chasuble, Cecily, Algernon, Jack and Lane/Merriman respectively.

Prokofiev's classic Peter and the Wolf is performed alongside two new compositions: Caroline Shaw's adaptation of The Mountain That Loved a Bird byAlice McLerran, commissioned by Carnegie Hall, and Robert Xavier Rodriguez's take on a favorite children's book, The Dot and the Line by Norton Juster, author of The Phantom Tollbooth, with the author in attendance for the performance. Edwin Outwater conducts, and renowned actor John Lithgow narrates this special Family Concert in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.
