Creator and Artistic Director Dambra Sabato and partners Ray Croce and Chelsea DiPilla bring A Saturday's Child, their arts and entertainment company's groundbreaking theatrical production of MONDAY NIGHT MONOLOGUES to a close this month. The trio will present the 'one-of-a-kind', now thrice-proven show at Plays & Players, 1714 Delancey Street in Philadelphia. All shows are on Mondays: July 9, 16 and 23. Shows start at 8:00pm, doors open at 7:30pm.

In response to overwhelming demand, amid extraordinary critical acclaim, Soho Rep, in association with John Adrian Selzer, extends the world premiere of CHEKHOV'S UNCLE VANYA-the new version by playwright Annie Baker, directed by Sam Gold-through August 26.

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage has awarded $873,000 through the Philadelphia Theatre Initiative (PTI) to seven theaters, presenters, and artists in the Philadelphia area. These include six grants for upcoming productions in the 2012-14 seasons, and one for research and development of a new play.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has just announced the Company for David Adjmi's new play, Marie Antoinette, directed by Rebecca Taichman, with choreography by Karole Armitage, in a co-production with Yale Repertory Theatre. The production begins previews on Saturday, September 1, and runs through Saturday, September 29, with press opening on Friday, September 7 at 7:00pm.

Angels in America, Part One: Millennium Approaches by Tony Kushner is a powerhouse theatrical event that garnered numerous prestigious awards including a Drama Desk award for Best Play, a Tony® Award for Best Play and the Pultizer® Prize for Drama. This epic work tackles a melting pot of social issues through the intertwined lives of several New Yorkers in 1985.

Lisa D'Amour's play Detroit premiered at Steppenwolf Theatre in 2010, directed by Austin Pendleton, and was scheduled to open on Broadway in the 2011/12 season.

Paul Gross, one of Canada's acclaimed actors, leads the cast of Are You There, McPhee? a world premiere by John Guare at McCarter Theatre Center. Directed by Sam Buntrock, the production runs now through June 3, 2012.

The Wilma Theater, in partnership with American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER), R Families, The Greater Philadelphia Tourism and Marketing Corporation, and Broadway Impact present a one-night-only reading of "8," a play chronicling the historic trial in the federal constitutional challenge to California's Proposition 8, written by AFER Founding Board Member and Academy Award-winning writer Dustin Lance Black. Last night, 35 individual artists and organizations were announced as winners of the 2012 Knight Arts Challenge at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. These 35 winning ideas are set to recieve $2.76 million as winners of the 2012 Knight Arts Challenge.

EgoPo Classic Theater ends its world premiere of The Golem. This one-of-a-kind devised theatrical event was created by the cast under the direction of EgoPo's literary director, Brenna Geffers. The second installment of EgoPo's season long Festival of Jewish Theater, The Golem was performed at the Prince Music Theater and closes tonight, April 15.

Susan D. Atkinson directs an ensemble cast of BRT favorites including Jennie Eisenhower, Diane Findlay,Laura C. Giknis, Barbara McCulloh, Susan Moses, and Jo Twiss.

PICT launches its 2012 season with the Pittsburgh premiere of Sarah Ruhl's Pulitzer finalist In the Next Room or the vibrator play. The production features Brad Heberlee as Dr. Givings, Megan McDermott as Catherine Givings, Jessica Frances Dukes as Elizabeth, and Melinda Helfrich as Sabrina Daldry. Alan Stanford directs.
