Rattlestick's ODE TO JOY Ends Extended Run Today

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that following strong reviews, the world premiere of Ode to Joy, written and directed by Craig Lucas, ends its run today, April 19 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.

Yale Rep Stages World Premiere of THE HOUSE THAT WILL NOT STAND, Now thru 5/10

Yale Repertory Theatre, in a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre, presents the world premiere of The House that will not Stand by Marcus Gardley, directed by Patricia McGregor. The House that will not Stand will be performed at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street) today, April 18-May 10. Opening Night is Thursday, April 24.

The Colony Theatre Presents Ian Buchanan & Mariette Hartley in THE LION IN WINTER, Now thru 5/18

The Colony Theatre is thrilled to present Ian Buchanan and Mariette Hartley starring in THE LION IN WINTER, written by James Goldman and directed by Stephanie Vlahos. THE LION IN WINTER will preview tonight, April 16; Thursday, April 17; and Friday, April 18 at 8:00pm and will open on Saturday, April 19 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, May 18 at The Colony Theatre, 555 N. Third Street (at Cypress) adjacent to the Burbank Town Center Mall.

Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY Celebrates 50 Year Anniversary

2014 marks a phenomenal fifty years since Roald Dahl's best-loved tale, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, was first published. The story of Charlie Bucket, the five Golden Tickets, the devilish Oompa-Loompas and the amazing Mr. Willy Wonka has become firmly embedded in our culture, having (twice) been reimagined for the cinema, as an opera and, in 2013, as a hit London musical. Conservative estimates suggest the original book has sold over 20 million copies worldwide; it is currently available in 55 languages.

Pipeline's CLOWN BAR Will Return for Extended Run, 5/10-7/26

After a critically acclaimed and extended run in 2013, Award-winning Pipeline Theatre Company will present an encore engagement of CLOWN BAR by Adam Szymkowicz, with music & additional lyrics by Adam Overett. Staged in a Lower East Side 'dive' bar, this environmental production is directed by Andrew Neisler. Previews begin May 10 at Parkside Lounge with opening slated for June 6.

Ensure that you book as soon as possible to see Manilla Street Productions offering of Blood Brothers at the Chapel Off Chapel. Produced by Karen Jemison and directed by Chris Parker, this portrayal of the tragic story of the Johnstone twins leaves you in little doubt that the price you had to pay to see the show was well and truly warranted. You do not want to be left lamenting, crying out 'tell me it's not so' as the sold out sign is posted and you have not got your ticket.

A TIME TRAVELER'S TRIP TO NIAGRA Premieres at Hudson Guild Theatre this May

America-in-Play will present the premiere of A Time-Traveler's Trip to Niagra, Following the Bold Adventures and Strange Detours of an Unlikely Group of Travelers Across Time and America. Running May 3-18 at the Hudson Guild Theatre (441 West 26th Street), this unique comedy interweaves two journeys up the Hudson River: one by bus in 2014 and one by steamboat in 1828. From upper class Brits taking a tour of the Early Republic to a modern brother and sister taking a bus ride upstate to trace their roots, the two trips converge at the iconic and spectacular Niagara Falls and aim to investigate the relationship between the American landscape and identity while exploring ties between past and future. A unique 'Dime Museum' exploring Americana and the play will be open 30 minutes before each performance.

Jim Brochu's CHARACTER MAN to Close 4/6 at Urban Stages

Urban Stages Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director and producer Peter Napolitano, announced the final week of the World Premiere engagement of Character Man. Jim Brochu's new musical memoir at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street). This limited run will continue through April 6th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan. The Final Post-Show Talk will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd with Special Guest Karen Mason (Mamma Mia, Sunset Boulevard, Hairspray), moderated by Peter Filichia.

TV Land Announce Summer Premiere Dates for THE EXES, JENNIFER FALLS & More

TV Land is launching a summer of star-studded programming beginning Wednesday, June 4th at 10:30pm ET/PT, with the all-new single-camera comedy 'Jennifer Falls,' starring Jaime Pressly, Jessica Walter, Ethan Suplee and Missi Pyle; 'Hot in Cleveland' starring Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Betty White, with an animated episode airing August 6th; and 'The Exes' featuring Donald Faison, Wayne Knight, David Alan Basche, Kelly Stables and Kristen Johnston, returning August 13th.
