Hartford Stage announced today the cast and creative team for Dominique Morisseau's Detroit '67. The powerful drama, produced in association with the McCarter Theatre Center, will perform at Hartford Stage Thursday, February 14, through Sunday, March 10.
Broadway powerhouse Eden Espinosa (Wicked, Brooklyn, Rent) released her Sophomore Album REVELATION. The crowd-funded album is comprised entirely of original songs. The night will open with Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Izzi Ray and will feature Espinosa singing her new music as well as special guest performances. The songs of REVELATION will premiere at New York's Sony Hall on January 28 at 8 PM.

Producers Anita Greenspan and Tony Hawk with Executive producer Adam Zotovich announced today that a new musical adaptation of the 2007 Nick Hornby novel, SLAM, is in development. This new project will feature a book by Tony Award Nominee Kyle Jarrow (SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical) with music and lyrics by Mark Mothersbaugh (prolific film composer, co-founder of new wave band Devo). Pro-skater Tony Hawk, who is featured as a character in the novel, is a producer on the project and is slated to develop skate choreography.
Building on 40 years of producing powerful contemporary theatre, Studio Theatre is pleased to announce a new class of commissioned playwrights and directors to Studio R&D, its incubator to support the creation of new work from inception to first production. Citadel Theatre will produce Jen Silverman's acclaimed dark comedy THE ROOMMATE, from February 1 through March 3, according to Artistic Director Scott Phelps. The production will feature Actor's Equity members Ellen Phelps and Laurie Carter Rose as the middle-aged unmarried women who find themselves living together as housemates. Citadel co-founder Ellen Phelps will play Sharon, the shy, divorced Iowan who takes in a roommate to bring in some additional income.
