About Face Theatre, in association with Justin Brill, launches its 2014-15 season with Methtacular!, written and performed by Steven Strafford and directed by Adam Fitzgerald. In this Chicago premiere, Strafford shares his brutally honest and often comedic story of survival in the underground world of Chicago's crystal meth scene. About Face Theatre has announced its full line-up of 2014-15 programming, kicking off this fall with the Chicago premiere of METHTACULAR!, Steven Strafford's hilarious and harrowing autobiographical account of his three year crystal meth addiction in Chicago. In the winter, AFT presents the Chicago premiere of Daniel Pearle's A KID LIKE JAKE, a contemporary look at gender seen through the lens of parents shepherding their Cinderella-loving son through the rigors of NYC kindergarten admissions. Next spring, AFT presents another Chicago premiere - Bixby Elliot's comedy ABRAHAM LINCOLN WAS A F*GG*T, a teen's touching and hilarious quest to prove the truth behind our 16th President's sexual orientation.

TUNE IN TIME, New York City's exciting, new musical theater challenge returns to Stage 72 today, July 1 at 9 pm with a new crop of exciting up-and-coming musical theater songwriters. The composers and lyricists must write a song from a musical whose title is literally picked from a hat, and in the genre determined by a spin of "The Dreaded Genre Wheel." Will it be a historical epic? Something a la Rodgers & Hammerstein? Or even [insert name of large theme-park owning megacorporation-turned-Broadway-megalopolis here]? Oh yeah, and they have just 20 minutes to do it.

Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), dedicated to advancing the art and business of live entertainment, has announced the nominees for the 2014 MAC Awards. Winners in twenty-five categories will be voted by the MAC membership by anonymous ballot and announced at the MAC Awards Gala on March 27th at BB King's Blue Club in Times Square at: 237 W. 42 St between 7th and 8th Avenues. If you're wondering whether or not 2013 was a fantastic year for the cabaret art form in New York, all you have to do is scan the amazing list of nominees for this year's BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards and you'll know it was one of the best ever. So now it's time for all you cabaret performers and fans to vote for the best singers, musicians, songs, and shows of the year. Voting will continue until Sunday night January 5 and the winners will be announced later that week.
