The Belmont Theatre Presents POSTMORTEM, Today

The Belmont Theatre will present the Murder Mystery/Thriller POSTMORTEM written by York native Ken Ludwig in The Bon-Ton Studio October 21-23 & 27-30. The mystery takes place in  April of 1922 and the cast of William Gillette's latest Broadway revival of 'Sherlock Holmes' has assembled for a weekend of relaxation at his magnificent medieval castle on a bluff overlooking the Connecticut River. For entertainment, actor-manager, playwright and heart-throb William Gillette, best known for his 30-year portrayal of the famous crime sleuth Sherlock Holmes, has arranged a seance. Now the scene is set for his greatest role. Someone is trying to murder Gillette and he suspects it is one of his guests. Intrepid, eccentric and wildly romantic, Gillette plans to solve the case himself a la Sherlock Holmes. 

Main Street Theatre Works Presents 6th Annual Live Radio Show Fundraiser

The finest radio drama of the 1930's was The Mercury Theatre On The Air, founded by Orson Welles and John Houseman. Their brief run, just shy of two years, presented many classical pieces of literature, created many memorable moments, and shook an entire country with it's terrifying portrayal of "War of the Worlds." This October, Main Street Theatre Works (MSTW) is re-creating another one of their literary classic radio plays with a live stage production of The Immortal Sherlock Holmes, October 21st, 22nd & 23rd at the Native Sons Hall, in Sutter Creek.

It's the Main Stage production of The Game's Afoot by Ken Ludwig, winner of the 2012 Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best Play…opening Friday, November 4th at the Burton Leavitt Theatre.   The Game's AFoot features Connecticut's own William Gillette, best remembered as the first actor to be universally acclaimed for portraying Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famed detective Sherlock Holmes, a role Gillette first played on stage in 1899 and continued for more than 35 years.

Amphibian Stage Productions Announce ISAAC'S EYE Cast

Amphibian Stage Productions (Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director) has announced the cast and creative team for its first main stage play of the 2016 season, Isaac's Eye by Lucas Hnath. Featuring actors Michael Linden, Greg Holt, Patrick Bynane, and Ashlee Elizabeth Bashore, the play will run Thursday, February 11 through Sunday, March 6 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.
