MGM Claims RAGING BULL II is 'Breach of Contract'

In an attempt to halt production on the upcoming film RAGING BULL II, MGM, the studio which produced the 1980 Martin Scorsese Academy Award-winning 'Raging Bull', has filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against middleweight boxer Jake LaMotta and the production company behind the sequel.

Lincoln Center Festival Kicks Off Tonight, 7/5; Full Listings

Nigel Redden, Director of Lincoln Center Festival, announced the Festival's line-up, which runs from tonight, July 5 through August 5, 2012. Theater offerings include Mikhail Baryshnikov in Dmitry Krymov's staging of a new play, In Paris, as well as Sydney Theatre Company's acclaimed production of Uncle Vanya directed by Tamas Ascher and adapted by Andrew Upton. The stellar cast includes John Bell, Cate Blanchett, Hayley McElhinney, Richard Roxburgh, and Hugo Weaving.

Dance Theatre Piece POOR LIZA Comes to Boston Tonight, 6/17

One of Russia's most famous actressses, Chulpan Khamatova, along with Bolshoi Theater soloist Andrei Merkuriev, will play for audiences in Boston with POOR LIZA, based on the novel by Nikolay Karamzin. This envelope-pushing choreographed theatrical performance was dreamt up by lauded choreographer Alla Sigalova and composer Leonid Desyatnikov, and produced by Russia's Theatre of Nations. Maestro Artist Management will present the performances in the US.

Jonah Bokaer's CURTAIN Comes to France's Avignon Festival, 7/20; MA's Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, 8/1

Jonah Bokaer, who has been making artistic waves on the international dance circuit since he began choreographing almost ten years ago, will be seen both close-up and afar in these coming months: outdoors at the Avignon Festival in France (July 20-22, 24-26) and indoors at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, MA (August 1-5) when he and Bolshoi Ballet star David Hallberg perform together in the world premiere of Bokaer's "CURTAIN."
