The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater invites audiences to laugh at the nerdy antics of some quirky spelling contestants, in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, directed by Chaz Meyers. These serious spellers hit the Players Club of Swarthmore stage for 10 performances: beginning today, March 20th to April 4th.

Previews begin tomorrow, today, March 20 for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) world premiere of IOWA, a new musical play written by Susan Smith Blackburn Prize finalist Jenny Schwartz (God's Ear, Somewhere Fun), music by Todd Almond (Stage Kiss at PH, Kansas City Choir Boy, The Tempest, On the Levee) and lyrics by Mr. Almond and Ms. Schwartz. Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll (Red Dog Howls, Middletown, What Once We Felt; next season's Antlia Pneumatica at PH), the musical play will be the fifth production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, as part of a new series of musical concert performances at the Royal Festival Hall, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING makes its London concert debut on May 19. Now according to Whatsonstage, Jonathan Groff, Hannah Waddingham and Clive Rowe are set to lead the concert, as J. Pierrepont Finch, Hedy La Rue and Twimble respectively.

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is a hip musical comedy which follows six young people in the throes of puberty, who are overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, as they learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. At each performance, audience volunteers are selected and invited on stage to participate in the Bee, making each performance unique. THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is recommended for theatergoers 13 and over.

The Public Theater welcomes Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff to the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' tonight, March 3. Groff, who performed in The Public's recent revival of Hair as well as The Bacchae and The Singing Forest, is replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in Something Rotten on Broadway this spring.

In just three years since the inception of the BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards, the ceremony has evolved into one of the community's most-anticipated events. And this year's festivities, the second one at Joe's Pub, proved to be the most glittering and energetic assemblage to date. In fact, there couldn't have been a more promising start to the annual cabaret awards season, which continues with the Bistro Awards at Gotham Comedy Club on March 4, and culminates with the MAC Awards (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) at BB King's on March 26. The 3rd Annual BWW Awards Show was just the right spark to get this season's prizes off to a veritable fireworks display.
