As the Chorale prepares for their sixth European tour in June, they share with audiences at home the wonderful music that will be presented in concert abroad.  The music of Irish, English, Welsh, Scottish, and American composers and folk songs comprise the repertoire.  Well-loved pieces such as How Can I Keep From Singing and O Danny Boy are included, along with several energetic spirituals and anthems that will fill cathedral spaces.

Harlem Stage's E-MOVES 18 presents New and Innovative Works

The Harlem Stage dance series, E-Moves promises to present a broad spectrum of choreographers of color who work across the spectrum of contemporary idioms. This year the acclaimed dance series has commissioned new works from two established and two emerging choreographers. Under the curatorship of Charmaine Warren, the E-Moves 18 lineup includes four artists with work that intersects the questions and impact of the world around them. Francesca Harper who continues to seek answers for life's challenges; Parijat Desai whose work is realized through her unique blend of contemporary dance and Indian forms; Kyle Marshall who quietly investigates black culture through dance; and Leyland Simmons who makes ballets that break from the classical mold.

Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces today that esteemed arts leader Pamela Tatge will join the organization as Executive Director in April of 2016. Following a record-breaking 2015 season, Jacob's Pillow, a National Historic Landmark, National Medal of Arts recipient, and home to America's longest running dance festival, launched a national search for its next leader. For the past 16 years, Tatge has served as the Director of the Center for the Arts at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, overseeing robust programming and acclaimed artistic initiatives for dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts. Drawing inspiration from his iconic discography, Dearly Beloved - The Music of Prince will feature newly imagined arrangements and compositions that celebrate the virtuosity of Prince with a wide range of special guests including vocalists Goapele, Frank McComb and Christie Dashiell, tap dancer/choreographer Jason Samuels Smith, poet/emcee/vocalist W. Ellington Felton and additional surprise guests. A guest DJ will spin for the pre-performance mixer and after-party. San Francisco Performances Founder and President Announces Retirement

San Francisco, November 11, 2015 - Ruth A. Felt, founder and President of San Francisco Performances--one of the country's most respected performing arts presenting organizations--has announced that she will retire from the nonprofit she created and has led for 36 years in the fall of 2016. Ms. Felt, who is 76, makes this announcement at a time when San Francisco Performances is at a particularly strong place artistically, administratively and financially and with artists and programming details already in place for two upcoming seasons, according to Patrick McCabe, Chair of the Board of Trustees. Since 1980 San Francisco Performances annually has presented the world's leading artists in genres and series including vocal music, piano, chamber music, jazz, guitar, contemporary dance, young masters, virtuosi and special events.
