The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York, New York City's leading service and advocacy organization for nonprofit theatre, today announced its initial roster of programming through June 2017 - to be presented by 11 nonprofit companies - at its new A.R.T./NEW YORK THEATRES (the Gural and Mezzanine), two affordable, state-of-the-art performance spaces located at 502 West 53rd Street - designed by award-winning architect Toshiko Mori.

After reading William Carlos Williams' 'The Doctor Stories,' author Charles T. Chase's patients began to haunt him. A flood of memories would come back to him while musing in elevators, driving in his car or winding down in his desk at the end of the work day. Thus began the task of penning down the stories in a journal, leaving every detail as accurately as they were remembered. The stories piled up and these became the cornerstone for his anthology, 'The Doctor's Stories' (published by Xlibris). The collection receives its new marketing campaign after its successful release in 2014.
In 1980, Warren Kliewer founded East Lynne Theater Company after extensive research and the discovery that there were no professional theater companies in this country dedicated to the performance, study and preservation of America's 200-year-old theatrical heritage. He named his Equity professional company after a popular late-nineteenth century American play. Based, ironically, on an English novel, "East Lynne" was the "Downton Abbey" of its day.
The Living Theatre will honor the life and legacy of Judith Malina with a memorial celebration to be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Ellen Stewart Theatre at La Mama, 66 E. 4th St., New York City. Bainbridge Performing Arts is deeply saddened by the loss of former actor, poet, instructor, mentor, and dear friend, Bob McAllister. Bob's BPA career included appearances in Twelve Angry Men and Noises Off, and his poetry was exhibited in the BPA Gallery. He also appeared in the Indie film Jurisdiction, playing Tommy Tongue, the anti-hero psychopath. Bob had an abiding love of theatre, and he had an unshakeable commitment to the community of artists he mentored, loved, and collaborated with at Bainbridge Performing Arts and the Island's entire theatre community.

Trause, Director of Oradell Public Library, is the author of Eye Candy for Andy (Finishing Line Press, 2013); Inside Out, Upside Down, and Round and Round (Nirala, 2012); Seriously Serial (Poets Wear Prada, rev. ed. 2014); and Latter-Day Litany (Editions élastiques, 1996), the latter staged Off-Off Broadway. His translations, poetry, and visual work appear internationally in many journals and anthologies, including the artists' periodical Crossings, the Dada journal Maintenant, and the avant-garde journal Offerta Speciale. Founder of the William Carlos Williams Poetry Cooperative in Rutherford, N. J. and former curator of its monthly reading series, he was nominated for the Pushcart Prize (2009 - 2011, 2013).
