Capital Stage to Close 2015/16 Season With THE TOTALITARIANS

Capital Stage completes its 2015/16 Season with the Sacramento Premiere of The Totalitarians by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, directed by Capital Stage Co-Founder Peter Mohrmann. This 'Riotous political comedy' - Bay Area Reporter, takes the audience on the campaign trail with retired roller derby star turned candidate for Lt. Governor, Penelope Easter! A dark political satire that promises to be the perfect tonic for this election year's headaches, The Totalitarians will run from June 22 through July 24, 2016 with a Press Opening on Saturday, June 25 at 8pm.

The Bronx to Take the Spotlight in Working Theater's THE BLOCK at Urban Stages Opening Tonight

Working Theater, the Off-Broadway company that in 2013 staged a production (about undocumented workers crossing the border to find work in this country) in the confines of an actual 48' trailer truck, will once again shed a unique light on a group of individuals rarely portrayed on stage. Under the direction of Artistic Producing Director Mark Plesent, the company will present THE BLOCK - a new play about community in the Bronx - which is no longer burning, but where life on the streets is as brutal as ever.

Working Theater's THE BLOCK Begins Today at Urban Stages

Written by Dan Hoyle, directed by Tamilla Woodard and developed with Maureen Towey & Tamilla Woodard, the production begins previews today, May 28th with an official opening on Tuesday, June 7th at 7:00PM. Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres to Present PLAIN AND FANCY, 5/25-10/15

The Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres is celebrating its 30th anniversary of Plain and Fancy which opens May 25 and runs through October 15.  With over 3,600 performances before audiences totaling 355,000, it has become one of the longest running musicals of all time.

Serenbe Playhouse and AIR Serenbe (the artist in residence program at Serenbe) are proud to announce a new play development program unlike any other: the 1st Annual New Territories Playwriting Residency, a Writers-in-Residence Program for Outdoor, Site-Specific Plays.
