Chris Harcum's MARTIN DENTON, MARTIN DENTON to Premiere at The Kraine Theater 7/6-7/23

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Elephant Run District will present the World Premiere of Chris Harcum's Martin Denton, Martin Denton, directed by Aimee Todoroff, July 6-23 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) with performances Today through Saturday at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets ($25/$20 students & seniors) may be purchased in advance at www.horseTRADE.info. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission. 

JERRY'S GIRLS to Bring Broadway's Iconic Women to York Theatre Company This August

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, has announced a Special Summer 2017 Musicals in Mufti presentation of the hit Broadway revue Jerry's Girls, with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and concept by Larry Alford, Wayne Cilento, and Jerry Herman, featuring the greatest songs for women from such immortal musicals as Mame, Hello Dolly!, Milk and Honey, Mack and Mabel, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine and La Cage Aux Folles. 

Shubert Foundation Awards Barrington Stage $70K in Support of 2017 Season

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a $70,000 grant from The Shubert Foundation. The Shubert Foundation's 2016 Grants Program awarded a record-breaking total of $26.8 million to 533 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across the United States.

Andrea Frierson's ME & ELLA, Valentine to the 'First Lady of Song', Set for Summer at York

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, has announced the 2017 summer New2NY Series presentation of the new musical Me & Ella, written and performed by Andrea Frierson (Once on This Island, The Lion King), direction by the Tony Award-winning team of Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel (Jay Johnson: The Two and Only), with music direction and arrangements by Ron Abel (Hazel, A Musical Maid in America, 'Happily Divorced').

LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE To Open 29th Season for ACT 1

Nashville's Artist's Cooperative Theatre 1 (ACT 1) will kick off its 29th season this fall with a production of Delia Ephron and Nora Ephron's Love, Loss and What I Wore, playing the iconic Darkhorse Theater October 6-21. The five plays and their directors, which make up the new season, were revealed to the opening night audience of ACT 1's 2016-17 season closing production of Reefer Madness the Musical, which runs through June 24.

York Theatre Company to Showcase Scenic Designs by James Morgan in Summer Exhibition

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, will present an exhibit of James Morgan's other career as a Scenic Designer with a retrospective look at over 40 years of his designs at The York Theatre Company at Theater at Saint Peter's.

Lisa Lampanelli's STUFFED to Launch New Off-Broadway Run This Fall

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli and producer Rachel Karpf have announced that Lisa's new play, STUFFED, will open Off-Broadway this fall in a new production at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street), following a limited NYC run last fall at WP Theater.

CAGNEY Tap Dances Into Final Week Off-Broadway

Cagney, the hit musical about Hollywood's tough guy in tap shoes, will conclude its celebrated run at The Westside Theatre on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Cagney began performances at The Westside Theatre March 16, 2016, prior to an official opening on April 3, 2016. When Cagney takes its final curtain call at The Westside Theatre, the production will have played a total of 502 performances (including 21previews).

Abingdon's First Musical THE BOY WHO DANCED ON AIR Begins Tonight

Abingdon Theatre Company presents its first musical with the New York premiere of THE BOY WHO DANCED ON AIR, with music by Tim Rosser and book and lyrics by Charlie Sohne, winners of 2015 Jonathan Larson and Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart awards. Directed by Abingdon Theatre Company Artistic Director Tony Speciale, THE BOY WHO DANCED ON AIR plays four weeks only, tonight, May 15, through June 11, at the June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Opening night is Thursday, May 25 at 7PM.

CURVY WIDOW, Starring Nancy Opel, Moving Off-Broadway This Summer

Curvy Widow, a new musical comedy with a book by Bobby Goldman, music and lyrics by Drew Brody (Broadway: Oh Hello; Cutman), and directed by Peter Flynn(Rhapsody in Seth; Two Rooms), will play at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues), it was announced today by the producers.
