Peninsula Players' THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP Opens 7/30

The frighteningly funny farce "The Mystery of Irma Vep- A Penny Dreadful" by Charles Ludlam opens July 30 at Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater and Door County's theatrical icon. The Drama Desk-and Obie Award-winning comedy is a true mix of Victorian gothic romance and Universal monster movies.

DONKEY PUNCH Begins Previews Tonight Off-Broadway at SoHo Playhouse

After a critically acclaimed run in June, Ivy Theatre will transfer their production of Micheline Auger's DONKEY PUNCH to Off-Broadway. Directed by Audrey Alford, previews of this limited engagement begin tonight, July 25 at SoHo Playhouse. Opening night is slated for Thursday, July 31.

Everett Quinton's DROP DEAD PERFECT Opens Off-Broadway Tonight

The Peccadillo Theater Company presents Penguin Rep's production of DROP DEAD PERFECT, a new comedy starring the legendary Everett Quinton at the Theatre at St. Clements (423 W 46th St - between 9th and 10th Avenue), which began previews Tuesday, July 15th. The comedy will open tonight, July 20th at 7PM.

Mark H. Dold Stars in Barrington Stage's BREAKING THE CODE, Now thru 8/2

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, presents Breaking the Code, Hugh Whitemore's biographical drama of Alan Turing, starring BSC Associate Artist Mark H. Dold. Directed by Joe Calarco, performances of Breaking the Code are from today, July 17 through August 2, with a press opening on Sunday, July 20 at 5pm.

The Peccadillo Theater Company presents Penguin Rep's production of DROP DEAD PERFECT, a new comedy starring the legendary Everett Quinton at the Theatre at St. Clements (423 W 46th St - between 9th and 10th Avenue), which begins previews Tuesday, July 15th. The comedy will open Sunday, July 20th at 7PM. Written by Erasmus Fenn and directed by Joe Brancato, DROP DEAD PERFECT is laced with double-entendres and allusions to 1950s television and Hollywood melodramas. With adult language and situations, this outlandish production is recommended for adults only -- particularly those with a slightly twisted sense of humor.

Gloucester Stage Opens Jack Neary's AULD LANG SYNE Tonight

Gloucester Stage Company continues the 35th Anniversary Season tonight, July 11 with the Boston Area Premiere of Jack Neary's newest work, Auld Lang Syne featuring GSC favorites and real life husband and wife Richard Snee and Paula Plum directed by Douglas Lockwood. The comedy thriller runs from tonight, July 11 through July 27.

The producers of Los Monologos de la Vagina, the Spanish language version of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, have announced that the show played its final performance last night, Sunday June 15, at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rdStreet).

SATCHMO AT THE WALDORF with John Douglas Thompson to Close Off-Broadway on 6/29

The producers have announced that the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway hit production of the new play, Satchmo at the Waldorf, written by Terry Teachout, will give its final performance Sunday afternoon, June 29, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at The Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street). Starring John Douglas Thompson, recipient of the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance, and directed by Gordon Edelstein, Satchmo at the Waldorf began performances on February 15, 2014, opening to rave reviews on March 4, 2014. Upon closing, Satchmo at the Waldorf will have played 18 previews and 136 regular performances.
