The Walnut Street Theatre concludes its landmark 201st season with its long-awaited new staging of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Filled with a powerful and heartwarming score including 'Tradition;' 'Matchmaker, Matchmaker;' 'If I Were A Rich Man' and 'Sunrise, Sunset;' FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is a timeless classic.

The nominees for the 2010 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre will be announced on August 10 at 4pm, the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia has announced.

The game is afoot! Master sleuth Sherlock Holmes and trusty sidekick Dr. Watson unlock the mystery of The Hound of the Baskervilles this summer at Central Square Theater, directed by Thomas Derrah of the American Repertory Theater. Featuring three actors taking on more than a dozen roles, this laugh-out-loud farce, by Steven Canny and John Nicholson, was a hit in both London and Lenox (Shakespeare & Company). The Hound of the Baskervilles plays at Central Square Theater from Thursday, July 22 through Sunday, August 22. The press opening is set for Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 8 PM.

The Irish play that led to riots in the streets of Dublin when it debuted 103 years ago and became a comic masterpiece, The Playboy of the Western World, opens the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 19th season. With previews June 16 and 17, the play opens June 18 in the Schubert Theatre and continues through July 3.
