Court Theatre Extends Smash-Hit FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE

Court Theatre, under the continuing leadership of Charles Newell, Marilyn F. Vitale Artistic Director, and Stephen J. Albert, Executive Director, announces the extension of Five Guys Named Moe by Clarke Peters, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson, Music Director Abdul Hamid Royal and Associate Director Felicia P. Fields. Five Guys Named Moe, which features Louis Jordan's greatest hits, now runs through October 15, 2017 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Shakespeare & Company Fall Festival Unites 500 High School Students

The Fall Festival of Shakespeare is back for its 29th season, and with it come the integral Common Classes where hundreds of teenagers come together for four classes in Stage Combat, Dance and Movement, Technical Theatre and Performance Preparation. Ten different schools are represented in this year's Festival, coming from the Berkshires, Pioneer Valley, and eastern New York State. The students join together on four different nights this October to explore, collaborate, and meet each other in celebration instead of competition.

Jazz Artist Astrid Kuljanic Comes to Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall

Croatian vocalist and composer, Astrid Kuljanic, will bring her complex musical sensibility to the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on October 24th with an eclectic program of jazz-infused traditional folk music from a wide variety of traditions, including Klezmer and Balkan standards. She will perform tracks from her up-coming album, Riva, recorded in the Spring of 2017 with her new group, Transatlantic Exploration Company, made up of accordionist and jazz pianist Ben Rosenblum, bassist Mat Muntz, and percussionist Rogerio Boccato. The evening will also include special guests: the groups Hrvatska Ruza, Rosa and Asaran Earth Trio, as well as saxophonist Elijah Shiffer, and violinist Ben Sutin. Hailing from Croatia, Seattle, New York City and Brazil, Transatlantic Exploration Company unites four musical worlds, bound together by a shared dedication to exploring new musical forms. Riva reflects Kuljanic's immersion in the musical traditions of India and Brazil, Klezmer, avant-garde improvisation and electronica.
New Temptations Musical AIN'T TOO PROUD Extends at Berkeley Rep

Due to an overwhelming demand, Berkeley Rep has announced that the world premiere musical of Ain't Too Proud-The Life and Times of The Temptations will extend for two additional weeks. Originally scheduled to close on October 8, the popular musical will now run through Sunday, October 22.
