Drury Lane Theatre opens its 2016-2017 season with the World Premiere musical comedy Hazel, A Musical Maid in America, based on the character from the Saturday Evening Post cartoon by Ted Key and the 1960s TV comedy series starring Shirley Booth. Hazel features a book by Lissa Levin, music by Ron Abel, and lyrics by Chuck Steffan. This new musical is directed and choreographed by Tony nominee and Emmy Award winner Joshua Bergasse with musical direction by Roberta Duchak. Hazel through May 29, 2016 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. BroadwayWorld was on hand for opening night - check out more photos below!

On October 14, 2016, The New York Pops - a symphonic orchestra known for presenting popular programs of exceptional quality - will launch its 34th season at Carnegie Hall celebrating the diversity of some of popular music's greatest icons. Music Director Steven Reineke, who has been described by The New York Times as a 'polished, welcoming host' who is 'young and vigorous, with a playful attitude,' will lead the orchestra in the highly anticipated concert season. The series will include an opening night concert celebrating the legacy of Lerner and Loewe with Broadway stars Colin Donnell and Laura Osnes alongside operatic baritone Nathan Gunn; a festive patriotic salute on Veterans Day; an exciting spin on our traditional holiday concert, featuring sibling duos Liz and Ann Hampton Callaway and Will and Anthony Nunziata; an exploration of the lasting partnership between Broadway legends Kander and Ebb, featuring Joshua Henryand Caissie Levy; and a tribute to some of the century's greatest singers and songwriters.

LIFE the charitable organization based in Palm Beach had it's 22nd Annual 'Lady In Red' Gala in Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach Florida and Broadwayworld was there. America's Got Talent Howie Mandel starred in the event which also featured Will & Anthony Nunziata, the Palm Beach Symphony and the Sultans of Swing.

On August 7, Pink Martini performed with New York Pops at its inaugural summer series at its new home, Forest Hills Stadium. The genre-defying Portland, Oregon-based band features lead singers China Forbes and Storm Large, alongside bandleader Thomas Lauderdale and several other instrumentalists.
