CANDIDE Announces Eight Extra Performances, Until Mar 1

From Westphalia to the far reaches of the New World, Candide's journey of discovery is anything but dull. Through anguish, happiness, loss and love this is a whirlwind adventure that seeks to prove 'life is happiness indeed'. Leonard Bernstein's joyous musical comedy features a now-classic Overture, 'Make Our Garden Grow' and 'Glitter and Be Gay'.

A brand new celebration of 50 Years of TV's favourite Time Lord, The Doctor! Benjamin Maio Mackay and Rob Lloyd are Doctor Who's biggest fans and are kidnapped by the Dalek's creator Davros. Their task is to explain to the Daleks, (whose memories have been wiped) all about the Doctor, his friends and his greatest enemies. Menier Chocolate Factory Presents CANDIDE Tonight

Following on from Sunday in the Park with George, Little Shop of Horrors, La Cage aux Folles, A Little Night Music, Sweet Charity, Pippinand Merrily We Roll Along, the Menier Chocolate Factory is delighted to announce that its Christmas musical will be Candide with music by Leonard Bernstein, book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler, lyrics by Richard Wilbur and additional lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, John Latouche, Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Park and Leonard Bernstein.

German Stage to Present THE GOLDEN DRAGON, 12/8

German Stage presents this hilarious comedy about a globalizing world, The Golden Dragon, featuring Nael Nacer, Patrick Shea, Paula Plum, Phil Tayler and Tiffany Chen, directed by Guy Ben-Aharon. There will be a Q&A following the performance as well as a reception

Broadway's most daring, curious, and talented artists gathered at Cielo for the Fall 2013 BC Beat on Monday, November 11th, the showcase and dance party with its own rules for sharing work and connecting artists. The evening's choreographers featured: Charlie Sutton, Cindy Salgado, Caleb Teicher, Kyle Mullins, Tricia Brouk, Josh Assor, Rickey Tripp, and Jennifer Jancuska, as well as performers Daniel Watts, Jennifer Locke, Ephraim Sykes, Aurelia Michael, Voltaire Wade-Greene, Masi Yahya James, Amber Jackson, Elizabeth Burke, Macy Sullivan, Ryan VanDenBoom, Matthew Steffens, Heather Hamilton, Shiloh Goodin, Liz Piccoli, Paul Romero, Borris York, Matty Oaks and Rachel Guest. KaNu Dance Theater to Present EPISODES OF HAITI at Jamaica Performing Arts Center, 11/16

KaNu Dance Theater will present "Episodes of Haiti" a 3-section full length concert about Haiti's culture, history, and present day situations; with exciting collaborations of modern dance, traditional Haitian folklore, poetry, and live music. The company premieres its new work 'Above the Water' about the spirit of Haiti's boat people. Living Room Theatre Presents LIGHT at Grant-Humphreys Mansion Through 11/24

David Pichette, Jack Fleischmann & More to Lead 5th Avenue Theatre's OLIVER!; Full Cast Announced

This winter The 5th Avenue Theatre presents a singing and dancing spectacular not to be missed: Lionel Bart's beloved classic, Oliver!, the holiday treat that will have audiences saying "Please sir, I want some more." The iconic musical returns to the celebrated 5th Avenue stage for the first time in 20 years, and will feature stunning costumes, dazzling sets, and a massive local cast of 66 (including 36 youngsters), singing and dancing their way through the streets and alleys of Victorian London. Based on the classic Charles Dickens novel, Oliver! is filled with memorable tunes including "Who Will Buy?", "I'd Do Anything," and "As Long As He Needs Me." Oliver! features direction by David Armstrong and will starDavid Pichette as Fagin, Grayson Smith as the Artful Dodger, Hans Altwies as Bill Sikes, and Merideth Kaye Clark as Nancy. Oliver Twist will be played by Jack Fleischmann and Mark Jeffrey James Weber at alternating performances.

WAM Theatre Announces ASL EMILIE Performance & Talkbacks

WAM Theatre will provide an ASL Interpreted Performance for the deaf and hearing impaired on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. at its performance of "Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight". This is the first time WAM Theatre will present an ASL Interpreted Performance, making them one of the first cultural organizations in the Berkshires to do so. WAM also announces two "Talkbacks", post-show discussions with members of the artistic staff and cast, following the 2 p.m. performances on Sunday, Nov. 10 and 17.

WAM Theatre announces its Northeast regional premiere of "Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight", written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Kristen van Ginhoven. The production, which will run from Nov. 7 through 24 with preview performances on Nov. 7 and 8, will be held at the St. Germain Stage in the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden St., Pittsfield.
