PlayMakers Repertory Company will partner with Triangle theater companies Little Green Pig, Black Ops and the Kenan Theater Company (a University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill undergraduate theater troupe) to proudly present a staged reading of AFTER ORLANDO, an evening of short plays in response to the shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The reading is presented in association with Missing Bolts Productions Inc. (Blair Baker & Zac Kline artistic directors) and NoPassport Theatre Alliance and Press (Caridad Svich, founder) and will be on November 28th, at 7:30pm in the Kenan Theater at the Center for Dramatic Arts.

PlayMakers Repertory Company opens its 2016-2017 Season with the world premiere of Mashuq Mushtaq Deen's 'Draw the Circle' directed by Chay Yew. Deen will perform his one-man show Aug. 24-28 as the first presentation in PlayMakers' new PRC² second stage series.

Chautauqua Theater Company (CTC), under the co-leadership of Artistic Directors Andrew Borba and Vivienne Benesch, brings its 33rd season to a close with William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew directed by Andrew Borba and featuring the outstanding talents of its entire 2016 Conservatory company onstage and off to produce this comedy masterpiece. The Taming of the Shrew plays August 12 - 19 on the Bratton Theater stage at the Chautauqua Institution. Opening night is Saturday, August 13 at 6pm. Tickets are $35 and are currently on sale.

The Glow Overhead plays on the Bratton Theater stage at the Chautauqua Institution.

Chautauqua Theater Company (CTC) and the Chautauqua Writers' Center have proudly partnered on their third new play commission, coming July 22 to the Bratton Theater stage.  This year's commission, The Profane, is written by the celebrated CTC New Play Workshop alum Zayd Dohrn (Sick - 2008, Muckrakers - 2012).  Directed by CTC Artistic Director Vivienne Benesch and playing July 22 - 31 at the Chautauqua Institution. PlayMakers Repertory Company has announced the addition of two key staff members to its leadership team. Joining recently appointed Producing Artistic Director Vivienne Benesch will be Managing Director Justin Haslett and Associate Artistic Director Jerry Ruiz.
