JACK presents 'Your Healing is Killing Me: A Performance Manifesto' by Virginia Grise, running October 5 - 7, 2017.

Recognized by The Village Voice as 'Best Scrappy Brooklyn Theater' in their Best of 2016 issue, JACK presents a flurry of some of today's key experimenting artists in theater, dance and music, with new work by playwrights Virginia Grise, Azure Osborne-Lee, nicHi douglas, Karma Mayetand Justin Kuritzkes, by choreographer Nicole Bindler, and by composer Justin Hicks with director Charlotte Brathwaite.

With two world premieres-a French/American co-production and another launching in China-and the continuing development of new productions, CalArts Center for New Performance (CNP) announces its 2017-2018 season of original works. Highlights include Fantomas-Revenge of the Image, directed by Travis Preston, making its world premiere at China's Wuzhen Festival; and conceived and directed by Arnaud Meunier, the world premiere of Fore! at La Comedie de Saint-Etienne will kick off a four-city tour of France and Belgium. At the same time, CNP will host a roster of distinguished artists-in-residence at CalArts to develop additional new works of theater.

Boundless Theatre Company will present a revival of Maria Irene Fornes' MUD - the first time this seminal drama by the 9-time Obie winner has been seen in New York since 1999. The production will be directed by Elena Araoz. Previews begin October 5 at Teatro Circulo in the East Village with press opening slated for October 12.

The Brick Theater presents the world premiere of PLUTO (no longer a play), the latest from New York-based collective Superhero Clubhouse and the final installment of their Planet Plays series. PLUTO tackles the subject of mass extinction as three humans attempt to give a presentation about the remains of a play that no longer exists. The fragments seem to suggest the story of a unicorn, a hunter, and a wizard, all struggling to adapt to a rapidly changing world. Facing similar dilemmas, the three humans reenact their findings, searching for hope among the bones.

One of the theater world's most prestigious playwriting prizes, the Yale Drama Series Prize, will be given to Jacqueline Goldfinger for her play Bottle Fly. The 2017 award recipient was chosen by playwright Nicholas Wright. This year's ceremony will be held in London, with the play receiving a staged reading in November at the National Theatre Studio.

The Brooklyn College Department of Theater will present its third annual New Works Brooklyn festival on April 5 - 9, 2017.

KIDNAP ROAD - a new play by Catherine Filloux, based on the real-life story of a female presidential candidate held in captivity for six years by terrorists in Colombia - will be given its world premiere production this spring, presented by La MaMa at its First Floor Theatre (74 E. 4 St.), with previews beginning April 27 prior to the official press opening on April 30.    

The National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) is pleased to announce $309,500 in grants to 49 artists and organizations through three grant programs: the NALAC Fund for the Arts (NFA), Transnational Cultural Remittances (TCR) and Diverse Art Spaces (DAS). These grants support projects taking place through 2017 in all creative disciplines and advance NALAC's commitments to support Latino artistic production. 

The One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF) and INTAR continue their acclaimed collaboration with The 5th Annual INTAR One-Minute Play Festival, with part of the proceeds to benefit UNIT 52, INTAR's training program for emerging artists.

To-By-For Productions is proud to present the New York Premiere of Dipika Guha's MECHANICS OF LOVE, directed by Elena Araoz at The Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) September 8-24.

In its 25-year history, New Georges has brought forth an unprecedented generation of women playwrights and directors, providing them with steady artistic support and first or career-transforming productions in New York City. New Georges will celebrate its anniversary season with the World Premiere of Hilary Bettis' Alligator, directed by Elena Araoz, presented in collaboration with The Sol Project this fall, and of Sheila Callaghan and Daniella Topol's collaboratively-created Water at 3LD Art & Technology Center in June of 2017 as part of Water City, a multi-disciplinary art event.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announced its 2016-17 grant recipients, including the 2016 Smith Prize for Political Theatre, four Producer Residencies, and four Collaboration Fund awards that will support partnerships between multiple Member Theaters, playwrights, and other theater makers in various projects.
