Director Anna D. Shapiro of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company has been awarded the 2010 Princess Grace Statue Award, The Princess Grace Foundation has announced. Shapiro previously received a Princess Grace Theater Apprenticeship in 1996.

English playwright David Hare has selected blu by Virginia Grise as the 2010 winner of the annual Yale Drama Series competition. The runners-up are Siona MacDuff by Mary Hamilton and Nineteen Kinds of Peril by Tom Lavignino.
The Alliance Theatre will present two days of readings from the finalists of the Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Awards.
