Gus and Max spend a day in the park, like every other day, on a day that, with the arrival of a mysterious man with a cane, is like no other. Lives of the Pigeons is by renowned poet Sherod Santos and is receiving its world premiere production at the side project under the direction of artistic director Adam Webster. Santos' play is a darkly comic take on individual identity, purpose in life and the nature of absolution, if and when it exists.

Signal Ensemble Theatre opens the new year with the second production in their Tenth Anniversary 2012-2013 season, the world premiere of Successors, January 26 - March 2, 2013 at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 West Berenice Ave. Successors is written by Signal Ensemble member Jon Steinhagen and is directed by Signal Ensemble member and Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra. Performances will regularly run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Preview performances are on Thursday, Jan. 24 and Friday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m., followed by opening/press night on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. Regular ticket prices are $20 for single tickets, $15 for industry/students/seniors/groups and $10 for previews. Signal Ensemble Theatre announces their 2011-2012, 9th anniversary season, continuing to perform in their own space, a permanent, leased venue in Chicago's North Center/Lincoln Square district. The group will also debut an initiative called The Ensemble Project, where Signal ensemble members can produce their own projects - including theatre, art, music, and other disciplines - at the Signal space, although not as an 'official' Signal production. The first Ensemble Project event will be Beckett's 'Krapp's Last Tape,' produced and directed by ensemble member Aaron Snook (see below).
