Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, will return to The Public Theater this spring for a limited seven-week engagement. Elevator Repair Service (ERS) is hosting their spring benefit on Monday, May 3rd, 2010. The company is currently finishing the third play in a trilogy of critically acclaimed plays based on great American novels by William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Ernest Hemingway. This event will celebrate ERS's success with Frances McDormand (Burn after Reading, Fargo), Lili Taylor ('Six Feet Under'), Fred Armisen ('Saturday Night Live'), Frankie Faison ('The Wire'), and ERS company members in a one night only performance of loved, banned and mythologized American fiction. Authors include Edith Wharton, Willa Cather, and Edgar Allan Poe. Readings will be accompanied by ERS's unique signature sound design.

Diane Paulus' landmark inaugural season as Artistic Director of American Repertory Theater (the A.R.T.) will come to a close with the world premiere of Johnny Baseball, The New Red Sox Musical (formerly called Red Sox Nation). GATZ, the upcoming staged reading of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, has been given the go-ahead by Fitzgerald's executors. The estate had previously blocked performances of GATZ, as the rights were held by the producers of the novel. Several companies have expressed interest in producing GATZ, including St. Ann's Warehouse, the Public Theatre, and the New York Theatre Workshop.
Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of GATZ, presented by Elevator Repair Service and directed by John Collins at the American Repertory Theater. The staged reading of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel will include Jim Fletcher as Gatsby, Scott Shepherd as Nick, Victoria Vazquez as Daisy, and Gary Wilmes as Tom. The production will play the A.R.T. from January 7th to February 7th, 2010.

Nicola and Acting Managing Director Fred Walker have announced that The Sound and The Fury (April Seventh, 1928), based on part one of the novel by William Faulkner, created by Elevator Repair Service (ERS), and directed by John Collins, will begin performances Tuesday, April 15, at NYTW, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 at 7:00pm. The production will run through May 18.
