MICHAEL FEINSTEIN, the five-time Grammy Award nominated, plantinum-selling singer and pianist, and CHEYENNE JACKSON - the Broadway star of Xanadu, All Shook Up and the current revival of Finian's Rainbow - have announced the release of their first CD together, The Power of Two. Based on the sold-out engagement at Michael's New York nightclub, Feinstein's at Loews Regency the disc features pop songs, classic standards and numbers from Broadway shows like Kiss Me Kate, City Of Angels and The King and I.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) is pleased to announce the winning selections of the 2009 TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series. In a series that is unique because it develops new producers as well as new musicals, three works were chosen from submissions by emerging or established producers, as well as writers. The works will be read on Monday, December 14; Tuesday, December 15; and Monday, December 21, 2009 at 7pm at the Players Theatre, located at 115 MacDougal Street, NYC.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.

The Public Theater's Music Theater Initiative presents its first Songwriter Showcase, featuring sneak previews of three musicals in development by today's hottest young writing teams, curated by MTI director, Ted Sperling, Tony Award winner for THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA.

Tony Award winner Victoria Clark (the Light in the Piazza), will team up with Broadway vets John Hillner (La Cage) and Andy Karl (9 to 5) for a staged reading of the 1983 Maltby and Shire musical Baby on November 16 at The Shop at CAP 21. The reading is part of CAP 21's regular Monday night Classic Concert Series.

E! News reported earlier this month that Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson will be joining the cast of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series '30 Rock' as a regularly recurring character or even potentially as a future permanent fixture.

Cheyenne Jackson can't get enough of the small screen this week. Tomorrow, November 12, he makes his much anticipated debut appearance on 30 Rock, and will also appear on the Today Show with fellow songbird Michael Feinstein to promote their new album The Power of Two. He and Michael will be interviewed and perform a song off of the album. The segment, hosted by Kathie Lee and Hoda, airs at 10:30am EST on MSNBC.

Special guests have been announced for the 2009 Emery Awards, which will take place Tuesday, November 10th. The guests will include Dustin Lance Black, Cleve Jones, Ben Zebley, Cheyenne Jackson, Heather Matarazzo, B.D. Wong, Christine C. Quinn, Judy Gold, Jennifer Holliday, DJ Lina, and Mayor Cory Booker. Girl Crazy, the first Encores! production of the New York City Center season, will star Ana Gasteyer, Wayne Knight and Marc Kudisch and will run November 19 - 22. Girl Crazy, directed by Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Warren Carlyle with Guest Music Director Rob Fisher, has music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and book by Guy Bolton and Jack McGowan.
