Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Machinal, starring Rebecca Hall, written by Sophie Treadwell and directed by Lyndsey Turner, began previews on December 20 and opened last night, Jan. 16, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. Machinal is a limited engagement through March 2.

Put this script in the hands of talented professionals, however, who can find laughs beyond what's written on paper, and you've got an evening so stuffed with laughter that you'd better prepare yourself to ache from all the funny.

Williamstown Theatre Festival's 2013 benefit will honor Award-winning director and frequent WTF collaborator Scott Ellis, today, Monday, November 18th at 6:30 p.m. at the Edison Ballroom in New York City (240 West 47th Street). The evening is hosted by Julie White, who won a Tony Award for her performance in the Ellis-helmed production of The Little Dog Laughed, and includes appearances by Tony Award-winners Chita Rivera, Susan Stroman, Rupert Holmes and more.

Last night, November 14, Second Stage opened its much-anticipated production of Little Miss Sunshine. This new musical comedy is based on the film of the same name by Michael Arndt. It was adapted for the stage by Tony Award-winning team James Lapine, who wrote the book, and William Finn, who wrote the lyrics and music. Billy Porter in Talks to Star in Barry Levinson's THE HUMBLING Film

According to Deadline, Tony winner Billy Porter is currently in talks to join Barry Levinson's The Humbling. The film features a script by Buck Henry, Michal Zebede and Levinson, and will star Al Pacino, Greta Gerwig, Diane Wiest and Mandy Patinkin. It will focus on ' a famous stage actor in decline who is revived when he retires to his upstate New York farmhouse and takes up with a much younger woman.'
