Billy Porter in Talks to Star in Barry Levinson's THE HUMBLING Film

According to Deadline, Tony winner Billy Porter is currently in talks to join Barry Levinson's The Humbling. The film features a script by Buck Henry, Michal Zebede and Levinson, and will star Al Pacino, Greta Gerwig, Diane Wiest and Mandy Patinkin. It will focus on " a famous stage actor in decline who is revived when he retires to his upstate New York farmhouse and takes up with a much younger woman."

Porter is a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University College of Fine Arts with a B.F.A in Drama. He also holds a certification from The Professional Program in Screenwriting at UCLA. Porter has starred in Kinky Boots (2013 Tony Award, Drama Desk & Outer Critics Circle Award Winner), Miss Saigon, Five Guys..., Grease, Smokey Joe's..., Dreamgirls. Porter's solo musical career includes two studio albums, Billy Porter released by A&M Records in 1997 and At the Corner of Broadway + Soul in 2005 which was released by Sh-K-Boom Records. He was also featured in a number of songs in the tribute album It's Only Life: The Songs of John Bucchino which was released in 2006 on PS Classics and in Adam Guettel's album Myths and Hymns on Nonesuch Records.
