It was an impressive crowd that gathered for the opening night of Rip Taylor's 'It Ain't All Confetti' at the El Portal Theatre on Friday May 21st, including Kathy Griffin, Julie Newmar, Rich Little, Kate Linder, Romi Dames, Bruce Vilanch, Joanne Worley, Susan Olsen, Tania Gunadi, Gary Collins, Mary Ann Mobley, Margaret O'Brien, Earl Holliman, Ruta Lee, Dick Van Patten, Nancy Dussault, Judy Tenuta, Dee Wallace, Anne Jeffreys, Alex Trebeck and many more.

Marcia Milgrom Dodge, whose critically acclaimed production of 'Ragtime' transferred from the Kennedy Center to Broadway last fall and is nominated for six Helen Hayes Awards, will direct and choreograph the Reprise Theatre Company production of the 1962 Pulitzer Prize winner 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.' The production will end its run May 23rd.

It has been quite a year for director/choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge, who was recently nominated for Tony Award for her direction of the Broadway revival of RAGTIME last fall. A workhorse by admittance, Dodge has left herself little time to celebrate, as she finishes prep for the Reprise Theatre Company's production of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, which opens tomorrow May 12 and runs thru May 23 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

Prolific musical stage director David Galligan helms another S.T.A.G.E. benefit this year for one night only on Saturday, May 1 at the Luckman Theatre entitled Original Cast, featuring stars who originated their roles on Broadway or in LA. Galligan has been interviewed many times over during the past several years, so I was hard put to think of a question that has not been asked of him. Therefore, we got right to the bottom line of what makes this year's different from all the other S.T.A.G.E. shows.
