Shakespeare's Globe's new artistic director Emma Rice has just announced the line-up for the historic theatre's new season. Called the 'Wonder Season,' all of the productions will include elements of folklore and magic. Philadelphia Theatre Company to Stage EXIT STRATEGY

Philadelphia Theatre Company will present the gripping and timely play Exit Strategy by "Chicagoan of the Year" Ike Holter January 29-February 28. Directed by Kip Fagan, the production features an ensemble cast with Michael Cullen, Aime Donna Kelly, Rey Lucas, Deidre Madigan, Christina Nieves, Brandon Pierce, and Ray Spahn. Exit Strategy is the first of several new American plays and presentations at PTC in 2016 which also includes an evening of excerpts from Anna Deavere Smith's new work, Notes from the Field: Doing Time in Education, the Philadelphia premiere of Sex With Strangers by Laura Eason, and the East Coast premiere of Hillary and Clinton by Lucas Hnath.

Happy Birthday, Renee Elise Goldsberry! Goldsberry played Nala in the Broadway production of The Lion King and was nominated for a Drama League Award for 'Distinguished Performance' and won a New York magazine Best of 2005 Award for her performance as Silvia in the 2005 New York City Shakespeare in the Park revival of Two Gentlemen of Verona. She later originated the role of Nettie in The Color Purple, the Broadway musical adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1982 novel of the same name from November 2005 to mid-January 2006. On June 16, 2008, Goldsberry was the last actress to play the role of Mimi Marquez in the Broadway musical Rent.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company to Continue Season with HENRY VI

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues its season and multi-year history cycle with "Henry VI: The Wars of the Roses, Part 1" by William Shakespeare. This production is directed by CSC Producing Artistic Director, Brian Isaac Phillips. This production features Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members including Darnell Pierre Benjamin at King Henry VI. The History Cycle sponsor is Osborn, Rohs, Williams & Donohoe, LLC. Parsons Dance Coming to The Joyce Theater

Parsons Dance will perform a New York City premiere by choreographer David Parsons, along with a world premiere from former Parsons dancer and rising choreographer Katarzyna Skarpetowska. Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) Executive Artistic Director, Raymond Bobgan is proud to announce the world premiere of Incendiaries, a co-production with Ohio City Theatre Project. Incendiaries was conceived and directed by Pandora Robertson and features a 7-person ensemble cast. The production previews January 7 before opening for a three-weekend run from January 8-23 in Cleveland Public Theatre's historic Gordon Square Theatre venue, located at 6415 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, OH.

Asolo Rep to Stage AH, WILDERNESS! This Winter

Asolo Rep continues its 2015-16 season with quintessential American playwright Eugene O'Neill's sentimental comedy AH, WILDERNESS!, directed by Greg Leaming, associate artistic director of Asolo Rep and the director of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. The Tony Award, Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winner's sole comedy previews on Wednesday, January 20 and Thursday, January 21 at 8pm, opens Friday, January 22 at 8pm and runs in rotating repertory through Sunday, April 10 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.
