Vinitaly Chengdu came to a close on Wednesday after four days of wine tastings and seminars that this year attracted more than 20,000 attendees at the Shangri-La Hotel, the brand new location of this third edition of Vinitaly Chengdu at the International Wine and Spirits Show.

The Old Globe welcomes Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, making his musical directing debut with RAIN, a sumptuous world premiere musical by one of the most significant teams working in theatre today: composer and lyricist Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Giant) and book writer Sybille Pearson (Giant). Based on the short story by Somerset Maugham, RAIN will play tonight, March 24, through May 1, 2016 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) concludes its 44thSeason with the most famous tale of star-crossed lovers, Romeo & Juliet. In recognition of the 400thAnniversary of William Shakespeare's death, this revered tragedy will be presented on Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, May 15 at 2 pm in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Avenue. Everyman & Playhouse Announces Upcoming Collaborations

The Everyman & Playhouse will spread Liverpool's cultural name beyond the city region again this year with a series of major collaborations. Working with Shakespeare's Globe to mark the bard's 400th anniversary year the theatres will co-produce The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by Associate Nick Bagnall which tours nationally and internationally before dates at the Everyman. Alumnus Jonathan Pryce leads the cast of The Globe's The Merchant of Venice at the Playhouse ahead of a world tour. The theatres will also co-produce Frank McGuinness's Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme with Headlong, Abbey Theatre, Dublin and Citizens Theatre, Glasgow at the Playhouse in June ahead of a national tour.

The workshop of award-winning composer/lyricist/playwright/performer Max Vernon's new musical THE VIEW UPSTAIRS, directed by Scott Ebersold and with choreography by Spencer Liff and music direction by Matt Aument, began rehearsals last week in New York City and will culminate in three industry presentations on March 31st and April 1st. George Street Playhouse today announced the cast of Aaron Posner's MY NAME IS ASHER LEV, which runs April 12 through May 1 at the New Brunswick theatre. Miles G. Jackson (4000 Miles) will portray the titular Jewish artist Asher Lev, who must be a painter despite his faith and the will of his family. Bob Ari (Frost/Nixon, GSP's Red) and Lena Kaminsky (Law & Order, GSP's The Pillowman) both return to George Street to round out the cast. MY NAME IS ASHER LEV will be directed by George Street Playhouse Director of Education and Outreach, Jim Jack.
