Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Monday, May 8 at 12 Noon, for the LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to their world premiere production of BELLA: AN AMERICAN TALL TALE, a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Obie Award winner Kirsten Childs (The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin at Playwrights, Miracle Brothers).

Mark Rylance to Reign on Broadway in FARINELLI AND THE KING This Winter

Mark Rylance, three-time Tony Award winner (Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing, Twelfth Night) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies), will return to Broadway in the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING, a new play with music by author and composer Claire van Kampen, it was announced today by producers Sonia Friedman, Shakespeare's Globe and Paula Marie Black.

General Director Placido Domingo announced today that soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov will return to Los Angeles in concert with the LA Opera Orchestra, conducted by Jader Bignamini. The concert will take place at 7:30pm on May 4, 2017, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012). Tickets for the concert are currently on sale exclusively to LA Opera subscribers.

The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival begins its 19th season with a Concert for Spring featuring the Brahms' Horn Trio on Sunday, May 7 at 4:00 pm at the Otesaga Resort Hotel, 60 Lake Street, Cooperstown. Gilbert Kalish, piano; Carmit Zori, violin; Eric Reed, horn; and Linda Chesis, the Festival's artistic director, founder and flutist, will perform.  The concert program is Beethoven:  Violin Sonata No. 6 in A Major, Op. 30, No. 1

Producers Karl Sydow and Paul Elliott have announced that the new UK production of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage, will mambo back onto the road after a sensational Christmas season in the West End followed by international dates in Bremen and Cannes. The show opens in Southend on 11 January and tours the UK and Ireland until the autumn of 2017.

The Guthrie Theater has announced casting for the theater's summer musical, Sunday in the Park with George. Leading the cast will be Randy Harrison (Guthrie: The Glass Menagerie) who will play French pointillist painter George Seurat, a role originated by Mandy Patinkin in the 1984 Broadway production, and Erin Mackey (Guthrie: South Pacific) who will play Seurat's lover and model, Dot, a role originated by Bernadette Peters.
