Votes are cast; polls are closed; and results have been tabulated! This was our biggest year yet! After a record number of voters in more than 70 regions worldwide, BroadwayWorld is very excited to announce the 2015 Kansas City Awards winners. Highlights include Alec Walberg who won 'Best Actor in a Musical' for his role in LEGALLY BLONDE at Stage Right Performing Arts, Vanessa Severo who takes 'Best Actress in a Play' for THE MIRACLE WORKER at The Coterie, and Wai Yim, winning 'Best Actor in a Play' for Unicorn Theatre's THE OLDEST BOY.  Thanks to all who voted, and huge congratulations to all the winners!

Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Artistic Director Eric Rosen is pleased to announce the cast of the World Premiere of D. Tucker Smith's Roof of the World. Both a spy adventure story and a drama of a British family caught in a political crisis, Roof is a sweeping romance that takes place on two continents during Queen Victoria's rule.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2015-16 season with the beloved holiday classic, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted for the stage by Barbara Fields and directed by Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Producing Director Jerry Genochio. Performances run November 20 through December 24 at the NEWLY RENOVATED Spencer Theatre. Kansas City's favorite holiday tradition is back for its 35th season, and the magnificent new Spencer Theatre promises an experience that's more magical than ever. Come share the joy of the holiday season, as our theatre transforms into a page right out of the classic tale by Charles Dickens. Richly textured sets, ornate costumes and spectacular special effects will transport the entire family into the tale of the grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge, who requires the intervention of a few ghostly guides to find the true meaning of Christmas - and life itself. A true work of genius appeared on The Coterie Theatre stage on Friday September 23 with the opening of THE MIRACLE WORKER. William Gibson wrote the play adapted from his 1957 Playhouse 90 teleplay of the same name. Helen Keller's autobiography, "The Story of My Life," was the basis for the play.

Lasso of Truth, a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere, opened on Saturday night January 31 at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. Johnny Wolfe directs this multimedia experience, which looks at the life of William Moulton Marston, the inventor of the lie detector and creator of the comic book hero Wonder Woman. The use of video and comic book style slides add additional humor to an already amusing and sensual production. Lasso of Truth is a co-production with the University of Missouri at Kansas City Theatre.

Johnny Wolfe directs the Lasso of Truth, written by Carson Kreitzer and co-produced with the University of Missouri at Kansas City Theatre. The show runs January 28 through February 15, with opening night on January 31.
