Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's Spring Awakening, the first musical to be presented by the Atlantic Theater Company, opened June 15th 2006 for a limited run through July 9th at the Atlantic Theater Company (336 West 20th Street). The show, in its world premiere production, began previews on May 19th, from the very first performance audiences knew something special was happening. Valerie Smaldone will be filling in on the WOR Morning Show from 5-9am this week. She will be infusing several theater and entertainment stories into the morning news program. Smaldone, a 5 time Billboard Magazine Award winner, is perhaps best known for her unprecedented success holding the #1 position in the New York radio market as the midday host of New York's 106.7 FM. She ended her on air run with the station at the end of 2007. In addition, she was the co-creator, writer, producer and host of 'Spotlight On,' a nationally syndicated program that featured in-depth interviews with top recording artists such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting and Celine Dion, to name a few.
