M*A*S*H's Mike Farrell Joins ON GOLDEN POND at Alhambra Tonight

Known to two generations of M*A*S*H fans as Captain B.J. Hunnicutt, Mike Farrell will move from operating theater to live theater when he takes the starring role in the Alhambra Theatre & Dining's production of On Golden Pond. Opening tonight, April 1 for just four weeks, Farrell will join other M*A*S*H legends Gary Burghoff, Jamie Farr and Loretta Switt among Alhambra's prominent list of guest stars.

Germantown Community Theatre has announced the slate of productions for their 2015-2016 season. The season blends music, theatre for youth, classic literature and raucous fun. Titles include Neil Simon's RUMORS, the movie-turned-musical DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS and Tennessee Williams' A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. Memberships for the season range from $60 to $200 and are on sale through the GCT box office at (901) 937.3023. The 2015-2016 season of Germantown Community Theatre is sponsored by the City of Germantown, Tennessee Arts Commission, ArtsMemphis, the GCT Trust and the Germantown Arts Alliance.

Garden Theatre Sets 2015-16 Season: 'LA CAGE,' 'HARDBODY' & More

The Garden Theatre, located at 160 West Plant Street in historic Winter Garden, is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 Theatre Season, running from September 2015 -May 2016. In addition to the five full-length theatrical presentations, the StarLite Film Festival and the Bluegrass Concert Series, the season will be dotted with weekend events such as music and dance concerts, as well as movies and holiday offerings. This perennial Christmas classic tells the story of a little old man named Kris Kringle, living in a retirement home, who gets a job working as Santa for Macy's. Kris unleashes waves of good will with Macy's customers in the commercial world of New York City by referring parents to other stores to find exactly the toy their child has asked for. Seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy's vocational counselor, who plots to have Kris shanghaied to Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, Kris ends up in a court competency hearing. Especially at stake is one little girl's belief in Santa.

The miracle in MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET is the ability of Kris Kringle to infuse the holiday with the true spirit of Christmas in the face of raging commercialism, harried shoppers, and cynical doubters. Adapted from the beloved 1947 film, the play at Stoneham Theatre does not fare as well in its stage bound version, despite the best efforts of all involved.
