Not only has Natalie Douglas broken the record for playing the Broadway at Birdland stage; this past week, she went one step further - literally. She fractured her fibula a few hours before her "Freedom Songs" concert. Of course, that didn't stop her from performing, perched on a stool with her bare foot wrapped in ice! Today, September 18, 2012, Pettiford will release her second solo album, "Velvet Sky", a collection of original lullabies. She brings a tenderness and wealth of emotion to the thirteen tracks on this new album, all of which were written especially for her by two legendary writing teams - Ron Abel (music)/Chuck Steffan (lyrics) and Michael Orland (music)/Jamie Wooten (lyrics). The songs range from playful numbers that are meant to inspire play between parents and their children, as well as softer tracks to lull babies (of all ages) to sleep.

Craig (Broadway's 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee & TV's Hart of Dixie), Julie Garnye (Broadway Cares' HAIR in Concert, Les Miserables), Stephanie Renee Wall (West Coast Ensemble's Gypsy), Sarah Wolter (Fred for Nothing), as well as additional performers TBA, will present an evening of songs made famous by Minnelli. Actor Valarie Pettiford, star of the hit sitcom Half & Half and last year's box office success Jumping the Broom, will star in the new film Battlefield America, which opens theatrically today, June 1, 2012, She will also take on a recurring guest starring role on HBO's Treme this fall. With the release of her second full-length album, a collection of original lullabies called "Velvet Sky" in September, Pettiford is turning the page and entering new chapter of her career.

Bufford (this Monday's11 O'Clock Numbers revue at Birdland), and regulars Allana Adderly, Daniel Kirkley, Matthew Falber, William Blake, and LA diva Valarie Pettiford!
M & P Productions has announced a one night only triumphant return to Hollywood's M Bar by the legendary Mack & Poppy lounge act. With two shows at 8pm and 10pm on Saturday, April 14, Mack & Poppy will once again sashay into M Bar, this time with a musical look at their marriage and professional partnership.

Joining Jamie on this spring evening were classical violinist Daisy Jopling, comedy's lovable Queen of Mean, Lisa Lampanelli, ten-time MAC Award winner and three-time Bistro Award winner Karen Mason (Wonderland, Mamma Mia!); Tony Award nominee Valarie Pettiford (Fosse, Sophisticated Ladies), writer/comedian/political satirist and CBS & Food Channel personality Mo Rocca and award-winning songwriter (The River, Garth Brooks; Nobody Wants To Be Lonely, Ricky Martin & Christina Aguilera) and recording artist, Victoria Shaw.
