NBC's 'New Year's Eve With Carson Daly' will ring in 2013 with Grammy Award-winning group Train, performing 'Mermaid' and John Lennon's 'Imagine,' and, Cassadee Pope, the winner of NBC's 'The Voice,' as well as some of the best musical performances from 2012. The two-hour special will air live on Monday, December 31, beginning in primetime from 10-11 p.m. (ET), and continuing from 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. (ET) with the first performances of the New Year. 'NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly' will broadcast in high definition from the middle of the world's most famous New Year's Eve destination -- Times Square in New York City.

NBC has ordered 'Hollywood Game Night,' a new hour-long game show series from Emmy Award-winning actor/producer Sean Hayes ('Will & Grace,' 'Hot in Cleveland'), based on his real-life 'game nights,' featuring A-list celebrities hanging out and living it up in a cocktail party atmosphere.

According to Deadline.com, 30 Rock's executive producer Jack Burditt has signed a two-year deal with Universal Television, which will end the seventh and final season of the NBC comedy series on January 31.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominations for the 2013 Golden Globes Awards this morning, live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Among the nominations was the hit NBC musical drama SMASH, which was given a nod for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical. SMASH stars Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty commented on the news this morning.

TVGuide.com reports that James Cromwell is set to appear in an unspecified number of episodes of the upcoming NBC midseason drama DO NO HARM. The actor will portray a 'renowned' surgeon on the show which stars Steven Pasquale.

Al Roker, the weatherman and feature reporter for NBC's "Today," and Alison Sweeney, the host of "The Biggest Loser" and one of the stars of "Days of our Lives," will co-host NBC's live, high-definition coverage of the "124th Tournament of Roses Parade" from Pasadena, California, on Tuesday, January 1 (11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. ET).* This will be Roker's sixteenth year hosting the popular annual event, and the first year for Sweeney. NBC has been broadcasting the New Year's Day parade for 86 years, beginning on radio in 1927 and then televising the event beginning in 1954.

A&E Network and executive producer Carlton Cuse are letting fans have a say in the creation of the new original drama series BATES MOTEL, starring Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore premiering this March. Carlton is asking the public for their help in creating the fifteen-second opening title sequence for the series as part of a Facebook contest for fans.

Following the renewal of DOWNTON ABBEY for a fourth season, series creator Julian Fellowes has officially partnered with NBC and Universal Television to create THE GILDED AGE, a 19th century period drama. The Hollywood Reporter announced the news this afternoon.
