MIDDLETOWN Awarded Inaugural Horton Foote Prize for Promising New American Play

Will Eno's MIDDLETOWN - which will receive its World-Premiere at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) with previews beginning October 13, and opening officially on November 3 - is the inaugural recipient of the newly established Horton Foote Prize for Promising New American Play, it was announced by Mari Marchbanks, Founder and Executive Director of The Horton Foote Prize.

Day, Garrison Join Vineyard Theatre's MIDDLETOWN 10/13

Chautauqua Theater Company (CTC) Artistic Directors Vivienne Benesch and Ethan McSweeny today announced the final production of the 2010 season: William Shakespeare's Macbeth. Directed by CTC veteran Andrew Borba and featuring CTC's full complement of 14 Conservatory members, Macbeth opens on August 13 and runs through August 21.

Nominations Announced for 2010 Hewes Design Awards

Nine theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 46th Annual Awards in a luncheon ceremony this fall. Eighty-one theater artists were nominated for outstanding artistry in 46 productions presented during the 2009-2010 New York theater season. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Extends THE ALIENS Through 5/29

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that its critically-acclaimed production of The Aliens, by Annie Baker, will play five (5) additional performances through Saturday, May 29th. Performances began on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 and the show officially opened on Thursday, April 22nd. Originally scheduled to run through May 23rd, the show will now play through Saturday, May 29, 2010.
