National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene Presents THE TENTH MAN By Paddy Chayefsky

This May, the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF)-Zalmen Mlotek, Artistic Director, Dominick Balletta, Executive Director-will present The Tenth Man, the Tony-nominated play by Paddy Chayefsky (the three-time Academy Award-winning author of Network, Marty, and The Hospital) in a newly commissioned Yiddish translation, directed by Tony Award-nominated director Eleanor Reissa. The Tenth Man will be performed from May 17 to June 11, Off Broadway at the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, Edmond J. Safra Plaza, 36 Battery Place, NYC.

Johnson (Coleman Domingo's-Dot) as Betty Samson at the National Black Theatre, 2031 125th Street & National Black Theatre Way (5th Avenue) 10035 on February 20.

Ensemble Member Gary Cole to Emcee Steppenwolf 2020 Gala

Steppenwolf Theatre Company will celebrate 44 years of trailblazing theatre and with an unforgettable evening inspired by the art and artists of our past, present and future. This phenomenal event will be emceed by esteemed ensemble member Gary Cole (Veep, The West Wing, Office Space), who will also tread the Steppenwolf boards for the first time in 20 years in this summer's production of Catch as Catch Can. A dynamic collaboration between artists and board members, Gala 2020 co-chairs include ensemble member Joan Allen; trustee Susan Berghoef; ensemble members Gary Cole and Sandra Marquez; and trustee Anne Phillips and Don Phillips. The Gala will take place at a new location, the stunningly renovated Old Post Office (415 S. Canal St., Chicago).

Fort Worth Opera Announces Two Spring Concerts Featuring Stars Of The 2020 Festival

Fort Worth Opera (FWO) has announced two spring concerts featuring stars of the company's 2020 Festival (April 17-May 3). On Sunday, March 29, at 2:00 PM, the international cast of La Bohème will take the stage of the Kimbell Art Museum's Renzo Piano Pavilion for Pops at the Pavilion, an afternoon of opera, pop, musical theater, art song, and crowd-pleasing duets. This interactive concert will feature mesmerizing soprano Talise Trevigne, award-winning Italian tenor Giordano Lucà, and thrilling Canadian soprano Tracy Cantin. They will be joined by Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone Donovan Singletary and dynamic Mexican-American baritone Efrain Solis, with a few surprises thrown in to keep audience members on their toes.

Arclight Cinemas & Slamdance Announce Inaugural EMERGENCE LOS ANGELES Film Festival Lineup

ArcLight Cinemas and Slamdance today announced the lineup for their inaugural Emergence Film Festival, taking place March 26th - 29th at ArcLight Cinemas' Hollywood location. The lineup includes both premieres and Slamdance Park City festival favorites and will showcase Features, Shorts, and Episodics along with Slamdance's signature categories Anarchy and DIG. Heather Orth stars as mysterious opium den proprietress Princess Puffer in Foothill Music Theatre's new production of Rupert Holmes' rollicking musical comedy a?oeThe Mystery of Edwin Drood.a?? A Tony Award winner for Best Musical, the show is based on an unfinished novel by Charles Dickens. As the novel was left incomplete, so is the show - up to a point. When the cast reaches the part in the story where Dickens left off, they put a vote to the audience at each performance as to how the show will end. Ms. Orth has been gracing Bay Area stages with astonishing frequency as of late. She possesses a big, flexible voice and the ability to charm the pants off you or break your heart with her emotional transparency. BroadwayWorld caught up with her recently while she was still in the thick of rehearsals for a?oeDrood.a?? She has often played characters older than she is, and as she matures one gets the sense she may just be coming into her own as a musical theater performer, and even bigger opportunities may be on the horizon.
