AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY Begins at Alumnae Theatre Today

Alumnae Theatre wraps up its 2015/16 season on the MainStage Theatre the darkly comedic AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY by Tracey Letts, directed by Victoria Shepherd, beginning today, April 8 through April 23, 2016. When the family patriarch vanishes, the Westons return to rural Oklahoma to care for their afflicted, manipulative mother. Winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize, Tracy Letts' darkly comic drama AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY is a harrowing epic that puts the 'fun' in 'dysfunctional'.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company's highly anticipated world premiere production of MARY PAGE MARLOWE, written by Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning playwright and ensemble member Tracy Letts, is helmed by Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro, who directed Letts's internationally acclaimed August: Osage County. She teams up with him again for this intimate and moving production in Steppenwolf's 40th anniversary season. The show is currently in previews for an April 10 opening night and runs through May 29, 2016 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Stage Vets to Star in Cherry Lane Theatre's PASS OVER

Cherry Lane Theatre has announced casting for the third and final production of the company's award-winning MENTOR PROJECT 2016:  Antoinette Nwandu's PASS OVER, being presented at Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St.) from April 13-23, it has been announced by Seri Lawrence and Janio Marrero, MENTOR PROJECT's Producing Artistic Directors.  Angelina Fiordellisi is Cherry Lane's Founding Artistic Director.

Fringe Hit 'THIS MUCH' to Premiere During Pride Festival at Soho Theatre

Premiering in London during Pride Festival, exhilarating Edinburgh Fringe hit THIS MUCH (OR AN ACT OF VIOLENCE TOWARDS THE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE) shows three men battling conformity to ask how we define relationships, and how relationships define us. The London debut will begin 7th June at Soho Theatre and run through 2nd July 2016. Press night is Thursday 9th June at 7.15pm.

James Norton, Kate Fleetwood and More Lead BUG, Beginning Tonight at Found111

Tense and blackly comic, BUG by multi-award-winner Tracy Letts (August Osage County, Killer Joe), is a taut exploration of two people on the edge; where the lines between reality and delusions become blurred. BUG celebrates its 20th anniversary with a production at Found111 from tonight, March 24, through May 7, 2016. Press night is March 29. HERSHEY FELDER AS IRVING BERLIN Comes to The Town Hall This June

The story and music of America's Composer come to life on stage when The Town Hall presents HERSHEY FELDER AS IRVING BERLIN, a new play with music written and performed by award-winning actor and musician Hershey Felder (Broadway's George Gershwin Alone, Maestro Bernstein). Directed by Trevor Hay, HERSHEY FELDER AS IRVING BERLIN plays one night only, Monday, June 6 at 8PM at The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street).

Photo Flash: First Look at ART/WNY's THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES

After a winter hiatus American Repertory Theater of WNY resumes the 2015-16 season with a presentation of the 1966 pioneering work by John Guare, The House of Blue Leaves. Under the directorial eye of ART/WNY alumni, Drew McCabe (The Crucible and Dead English), the work centers on one man's desire to rise above his mundane life by becoming a successful songwriter only to see this dream remain elusive because of the eccentric circumstances surrounding the life he leads. Robert Ernie Insana will return to the ART/WNY stage as the befuddled 'Artie Shaughnessy' in this compelling American play. The House of Blue Leaves opens on March 10th and runs until April 2nd in ART/WNY's new location, 330 Amherst Street, Buffalo (next to the Sportsman Tavern). All show-times are 8 pm, Thursday through Saturday.
