WSU Hilberry Theatre to Open Charles Mee's BIG LOVE, 10/25

Charles L. Mee's dark comedy Big Love brings the classic battle of the sexes to the Hilberry Theatre. Playing October 25 through December 7, 2013, this hilarious and boisterous theatrical production is a meditation on love and an exploration of gender archetypes told through the viewpoint of a trio of soon-to-be brides as they quarrel with their three suitors.

Flying Carpet Theatre's MEDICINE SHOWDOWN to Begin 10/12 at the East 4th Street Theatre

The Flying Carpet Theatre (FCT) presents the New York premiere of THE MEDICINE SHOWDOWN, a new play by Topher Payne and Adam Koplan that interweaves a traditional story (inspired by Henrik Ibsen's classic 'Enemy of the People') with scenes from a turn-of-the-century medicine show, complete with tap dance, old time melodrama, country music and vaudevillian comedy. THE MEDICINE SHOWDOWN begins performances October 12 prior to an official press opening of October 16 at the East 4th Street Theatre (83 East 4th Street - btw. Bowery and Second Avenue) in Manhattan.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will hold its annual gala event 'One Mysterious Evening' (formerly known as 'One Enchanted Evening') tonight, September 28th, 2013 at the Kimberly-Clark Campus, 1400 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, GA. Attendees at this popular affair will honor Paul and Bowe Lang as the tenth annual recipients of the Georgia Ensemble Theatre Legacy Award.

Atlanta's 2013 Suzi Awards Nominations Announced

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced nominations for the 2012- 2013 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to theatre patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by 7 Stages in the Little Five Points neighborhood of Atlanta. Guests enjoyed drinks, hors d'oeuvres and mingling with their colleagues and admirers. Guest announcers and former Suzi winners Ingrid Cole and Glenn Rainey revealed Nominees and quipped about the past season.

A packed audience at tonight's opening performance of Hello Dolly! was treated to the official announcement from Artistic Director Robert J. Farley of Georgia Ensemble Theatre's (GET) 2013-2014 Season. The selections are: Almost Heaven: John Denver's America written and adapted by Peter Glazer, Deathrap by Ira Levin, the world premiere of The Only Light in Reno by Topher Payne, F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby adapted for the stage by Simon Levy, and Camelot by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. Georgia Ensemble Theatre is the Official Resident Professional Theatre Company at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center in historic Roswell, Georgia.
